Just putting this out there, because im bored, and want to put myself to some good use.
If anyone needs someone to record something for them, I can do it.
I can record in HD and play almost anything laglessly.

Out of curiosity, could you provide some examples of what you mean by "recording"? Lots of things can mean "recording" something and it needs a little bit more clarification.

Herp. Sorry

Recording games/emulators. I have a great computer/screen recorder that doesnt desync, and has HD capabilities. And the good computer to support it without lag.
and enough time on my hands that I can spare(sadly).

Its just I see alot of people posting their hacks and stuff. When it doesnt look the best. Just offering my time to them if they need a good recorder.
Gives me something to do.

As it is, some emulators (SNES9x for instance) have built-in video recording support.

Other than that, though, you've got me stumped.

Also, that appears to be a tool-assisted Illusion of Gaia. Notice how the player attracts the gems from both directions at once and doesn't take any damage at all.

VBA too has built-in video recording. I used it to record animation research data for OpenPoké.

I haven't watched that IoG video, but doing the things you just described just makes me confirm it likely is a TAS.

This kind of request has a slight problem. What if people want to play the games themselves and wants to record in HD, but can't because their program or whatever doesn't support it?

Kawa: I've tried recording in VBA myself, and the quality absolutely sucks.

not really o.o Its just I usually dont have anything to do in my time. I just want to kinda see if theres any way I can spend my time helping people, in a way.
If I was advertising, id keep it in my signature and spam post everywhere.
I said HD because like I said before, I see alot of people test playing their hacks on youtube, yet the quality is crap.
I was figuring I could test play them for them.

Also, yes, My walkthough was slightly TASed, just because I think it looks awesome when you look like your avoiding stuff like the matrix.
However, if I was fully trying to TAS it, I would have done it better.
The videos were just a walkthough really

	A few tips: Try to make the emulator window fit perfectly in the capture window. It looks nicer and helps capture speed (less area to capture) and won't require editing afterwards. Don't use zsnes, it does awful things to the audio. As mentioned before, try to use an emulator's export to video feature when possible. I used Camtasia Studio 6 when I recorded my FFVI Advance videos. Of course, I had downloaded the program as it'd cost way too much to buy it. But I've managed to find a setup that doesn't generate too big files but still has good quality. They're on my youtube account.

And the program also remembers where I have the emulator window so I just need to set the capture window up once.

Yes, it's preferable to use the inbuilt video recorder if possible. Old SNES games compresses well losslessly too (at least does with the lossless encoding in ZSNES), but unfortunately Youtube counts it as a low-res video and make it unnecessarily blurry (might be fooled if you stretch the video into HD resolution though).

And for people who really insist on hurf durf commentary, just use a separate recording program then mix it into the video later. Just don't do anything stupid that would desync the commentary audio from video (such as using savestates).

The low-high res/quality on youtube has with the resolution to do. If you record in, say, 640x480 in ZSNES, you'll get a 480p option on youtube which is quite good.
