First of all, hi! I'm Cancer Core (Original name, right?), and I'm pretty new with Fraxy. I've played it since it first came out, yeah, but I still suck at making bosses. But enough about my Fraxy experience, and more about me. I'm a nice guy who tends to be pretty quiet about things, but I'll help in any way I can, whether it be beta testing a boss, or requests.

Anyway, the question... How do I start 401 Mode? I have a version of Fraxy that's made after the April fools day, so why can't I access 401 Mode? Am I doing something wrong in the game itself, or am I just blind and it's RIGHT THERE in the Config menu?

Actually, yes (not that you're blind or anything)... XD

Assuming you are using the latest version, that is v20100113beta, you can activate 401 Mode via the Config menu. Under the FreePlay tab you'll find a checkbox called Area Fixed Mode. Be sure that's checked off as that's 401 Mode.

If you're looking for the Try, then open up the main game and go to the Try section, it's listed as 401.

You can get the latest version of Fraxy here, just in case: Fraxy Main Page

Welcome and enjoy!

*facepalm*

The area fixed thing was 401 mode all along? Wow, don't I feel special...

Anyway, thanks for the help! Be expecting to see me here a bit more often!

I also forgot to mention this little thing. If you want the ship to also face straight, change the Control Mode to Keyboard 2 under the Input tab.
