The above is a poster of the Zelda 1 overworld. I have one for the first quest, and another for the second. These posters cost about $150 each. I grabbed the maps off of vgmaps and ran them through some texture filters in Photoshop. The size of the posters are 24"x96". It's printed on a high quality photo paper and then laminated in a 5mil thickness. The two on the table are two 11x17 pages taped together and laminated.

So, what do you think these will rake in on ebay? What's the best way to get some attention and publicity to drive up the bids?

Are these things difficult to come by? If so it might be worth even more than you bought it for if you can grab the attention of the right die-hard Zelda fan.

Well, to sincerely bolster the cost, you could have it matted and framed, of course that in itself would be a significant investment...

Without that, I hate to say it, but you would probably make $125 at best...

Sadly, I'm inclined to agree with the aforementioned posters. I can't see how anyone would pay $150 for this; as a single manual producer, you can't really keep up with the price standards set by mass-producing poster forges.

But then, of course, with eBay, you never know how much somebody winds up forking out...

Sure people are lazy, and anyone could do what he did, but if no one else has done it, and KP is willing to put the effort in to making it look really nice and "collectible-looking", you never know. Maybe there is some die-hard retro-Zelda fan out there that would buy it. But I don't think he'd get very much.

If you could make a little more than the money it took to have it printed, photoshopped in high quality, laminated, then I'd say it was worth it.

It's actually not a bad idea KP. Keep up the good work.

If you're desperate for cash, and you need to sell them, you could make back probably $50 for each large poster and $25-$30 for each of the small ones, imo. But as they say, there are people on ebay that will pay more money if they perceive that it's one of a kind or rare, which they are. Only problem is that they are not official, so pricing is not in your favor at that point.

I'm more shocked that it took $150 to make those than anything else. That seems outrageously expensive, even for what you used to make it.

Maybe if it was hand-drawn looking like it was made by a real cartographer... but that would involve way more work.

Wouldn't hurt to put them on e-bay for the same cost you "produced them" for.

I'm pretty sure In-N-Out uses pickles, and I'm sure they're delicious.

Topically, I'd suggest doing limited woodblock printings, numbered from 1~x. Then have the original woodblocks be destroyed in a massive earthquake in the mid-20th century.
