1. Making the textbox always have the focus. It's annoying to always have to click it after you clicked somewhere else.
2. Changing the text color for "user has quit" messages. Dark blue on black -> hard to read. 3. Perhaps a quicker way of copying text than opening a window where the user must select his text again. ____________________ Kafuka -- ROM hacking Kuribo64 -- we hack shit |

I thought #3 was a Java security limitation or something. ____________________ Wife make lunch - Shampoo Opera - give it a spin Spare some of your free time? <GreyMaria> I walked around the Lake so many goddamn times that my sex drive was brutally murdered Kawa rocks — byuu |

1. I don't even think if you can force focus into the applet (and might be a bad idea to force it infact if possible). Most plugins are like this to start with anyway.
2. Might be possible to increase the contrast slightly but it's very readable for me. I suspect you're using a aged CRT monitor, it's not really that hard for me to read. 3. The IRC client seems did roll their own solution with the IRC textbox, which is why it opens a separate window for copying and pasting. I don't think Java applets are allowed to mess directly with the clipboard, unless access is "elevated". ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

1. Possible but it's annoying when you start typing tons of text and then notice the textbox wasn't having the focus and you were basically typing in nothing. It's even worse if you happen to hit backspace while the textbox doesn't have the focus, since it brings you to the previous page, disconnects you from IRC and results in the "loss" of all that has been said previously.
Edit: some IRC clients, such as HydraIRC, will force the focus on the textbox anyway. I think they're doing that for this exact reason (minus the backspace obviously). 2. I'm using an LCD. And Colour Contrast Analyzer says: #0000FF on #000000 -> Fail (The contrast ratio is: 2,44). The contrast ratio should be atleast 5 (Level 2), ideally 10 (Level 3) or above. 3. Hm, I see. Then if it's a security measure, there's not much that can be done... ____________________ Kafuka -- ROM hacking Kuribo64 -- we hack shit |

Uh.
#0000FF on black is, well, not unreadable, but hard to read. If you can read that without having to move towards your monitor, then I'll agree I'm the one who is blind. Besides: ▼ ____________________ Kafuka -- ROM hacking Kuribo64 -- we hack shit |

Posted by RT-55J#00F on #000? I agree. Crank that contrast. However, the opposite holds for Traffic Light's gradient in the thread summary when replying, at least for the Standard theme which I use -- #00F is unreadable whereas #00007F (the bottom one) is at least somewhat legible. ____________________ Wife make lunch - Shampoo Opera - give it a spin Spare some of your free time? <GreyMaria> I walked around the Lake so many goddamn times that my sex drive was brutally murdered Kawa rocks — byuu |

Admittly in Mega-Mario's reference humans perceive green as the brightest, followed by red. Blue is the "least bright" color.
Y = (0.299 * R) + (0.587 * G) + (0.114 * B) Where Y would be the perceived brightness. Color are in values from 0.0 to 1.0 . However, I still think 0x0000FF on 0x000000 is not too hard to read... ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by Ailure Actually, I'd agree with that. I can read 0x0000FF (and even darker) on 0x000000, but it's just that the contrast isn't ideal. ____________________ Kafuka -- ROM hacking Kuribo64 -- we hack shit |
