What do you think the waveform will collapse into?
Kitty lives
Kitty dies
Kitty is angry as shit
Kitty is... gone?

Isn't it irrelevant? Whether it is alive or dead it only matters to whoever the observer is, to everyone else it's still both.

No, quantum mechanics doesn't quite work like that.

There is no magic attribute of "human observers"; what is actually meant by "observation" is any kind of interaction with molecules in superposition that can serve to determine their state.

that's debatable, I think that any observer, human or not, has their own reality, and that reality is linked to all others and defined by events within. Many realities are similar

You don't want to do that, Haz. Not against Black.

Why don't you take it to Debate and see for yourself?

Oh, but that springs an interesting idea, what if we have two boxes?

The original box with the cat inside, inside a bigger box with the observer inside, with his own quantum mechanism of decision of whether he'll look into a box or not.

Do we have all these events happening at the same time until we observe the observer?

The cat is both alive and dead and the observer didn't look into the box AND the cat is dead after the observer looked into the box AND the cat is alive after the observer looked into the box.

The cat is either dead, alive, or still in it's super position or whatever.
25% chance it's dead, 25% chance it's alive, 50% chance the cat's box is still unopened. (Assuming perfect 50/50 chances of the cat being dead/alive and the observer looking in the cat's box.)
