Surely I can expect most of you to be familiar with Schrodinger's infamous cat-in-a-box thought experiment? Now then, since we cannot tell if the cat's dead or alive until we open the box, we can at most guess. So what do you think would happen?

It's quite ironic that the option "both dead and alive" is missing...

The cat left, because Schrodinger used the Cheshire Cat by mistake.

Well, were you expecting it to right?

Yes, yes I was.

Or was I expecting it to left a right? Or right a left?

(You know, I'm pretty sure I never saw Alice in Wonderland. And no, I don't need to. :U)

Clearly the cat called Ran-sama and Yukari-sama to help her escape when Shrodinger wasn't looking. :|

It's not missing. This is about the situation after the box is opened. Obviously it's "both dead and alive" before.

But I stand in my opinion that if the cat was both dead and alive before, it could remain both dead and alive after the box is opened, as in, the box could have acted as an observer without making the cat "collapse", and thus when you observe the cat it doesn't have any effect. This possibility is missing.

Sentient boxes FTW!

You don't get it, Traffic Light. Before the box is opened, there are two possibilities. But only one remains after it's opened.

ORLY? Does that possibility include "the cat is gone"?, because what is weird is that THAT is a possibility while "both" is not.

Oh God, now I'm trolling...

Sorry about that, eh, I think I like alive kitties more than dead ones, so I'll pick that option.

Am I correct in assuming option #3 is also the "Radiation turns kitty into mutant kitty" option?

If it doesn't kill it, why not? I suppose I'd be pretty damn pissed off if all my hair fell out and dark blotches appeared all over.
