Is there ever a point to getting perfect attendance in high school? I never quite found one or any benefit that it would give me in my life when that would happen.

Honestly, my average skips per year were about 5-7 and they were usually premeditated anyways since I knew I could miss or knew that I wouldn't be missing much of anything. Not like it really impacted with my studies or whatever that much if at all.

here's the break-down: We ditched school, went to the movies, went home, dad calls me, I tell him the truth, friends call, they tell me the whole school know, and now i'm fucked on Monday...

BUT IT WAS SOOO WORTH IT!! 300 WAS AWESOME!!!
Failure.

You did everything, everything wrong.

Rule #1: Never leave evidence behind. You should have taken all your backpacks, or at the very least leave them someplace safer.

Rule #2: If you ditch, don't go around telling it to everybody, and count your heads. You don't want someone who knows about it sneak off and tell everyone, now do you?

Rule #3: Always plan an escape route. Exit through the back if possible. I will assume you failed this as well and went out the main entrance, where all the guards probably are.

Rule #4: Evasive maneuvers. Stealth is your friend. Try to act normal, and avoid detection from family members and neighbors.

Rule #5: Plan ahead and make up a credible excuse beforehand. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you how bad you failed here.

Then again, I wasn't that much better when I ditched two years ago. It was a rainy day, we had a Bio exam coming up, we hadn't studied, and we were hungry. So after Geometry class, our whole group was supposed to ditch, but six people chickened out and went to take the test. We ignored them. We jumped out the back gate and went to the local Church's Chicken to grab a bite. My biggest mistake was coming back to school that day to take the remaining classes, when almost everyone else had left. I had to, for my cell phone was at home (). Long story short, the teacher knew all alog, and I had to beg my mother for an excuse which she reluctantly wrote two days later. Hence my internet absence of late '05.

Lastly, one word of advice: If you're going to ditch, at least do it for something worthwile like jeff said, not for a movie that is all action and little plot

Sounds like Metal Gear. It'd be awesome to have a Codec radio on hand, or, in Snake's case, ear.

I've never ditched school. We always have an important lecture or some assignment every day.

Um... Question:

Why are you fucked?
What's the big fucking deal? You skipped school. They can't suspend/expel/do shit to you about that if you aren't over the legal limit for absences.

As long as your parents don't care then who gives a shit?

I ditched first hour 72 times my senior year in high school. It wasn't a state required credit and I'd have rather had breakfast. I went to my other classes so no one cared.

I averaged 10 missed days a year. All with excuses.

I had to go to absentee meetings every time and I said the same thing every time.

So people with good grades are exempt from the rules that people with lesser grades must adhere to? Brilliant.

Yeah, I know! Teachers grade attenance in itself too heavily. If you miss a lot of class, you're more likely to get a lower grade anyway because of missed material. I especially hate when there's an absolute "line" as in "4 or more absences is an F."

Omgea: Assuming you're under the proper age, how did you see 300 without any adults? Did you sneak into that, too?

Well, if one knows the material so well, then they shouldn't be taking the class anyways. There are plenty of placement tests to remedy that. Being in class is often one of the more important things, especially in courses such as language, where a lot of material can only be done in class.

Which means that people who miss a lot of class are already missing enough material to negatively impact their grade in the class a great deal, so why should they be penalized even more?

Duh, that's exactly what the entire educational system is based upon!

It's what usually keeps me out of trouble. Hell, I could be IN a fight, and when the school guards come to bust it up, just walk away, unscathed.

Of course, people with good grades must be ever so intelligent!

Or you could take all the retard classes. And when I say "retard", I mean like Algebra A/B (...people don't know how to find the area of a damn rectangle) and all the really easy classes. I accidentally took A/B (thought it was 1), which lead to my doom. I'm the only person in there with an A, and I always get the highest scores on all the tests, although I never, ever answer questions asked to the whole class. One of my friends in there has the second or third highest grade, so we have a small triangle of people who, y'know, know things. I'd skip this class, but I'd miss an assignment and a lecture where we actually need to take notes. Plus, my parents would destroy me.

I half-knew that, but decided to go on, anyway. I don't know why, but... Yeah, there you go, my life story. This is what happens when I dive into things too fast... Which happens too often.

Hiryuu: Perfect attendance at my high school got you a little piece of paper with your name on it signed by one of the VP's. And your name on a list. HOW AWESOME.

High school's when they really care about attendance... if you didn't have a note at my school when you came back, you got detention. (Granted, your parents could write you a note, but you just needed SOMETHING from someone other than yourself.)

Once you get to college/university, you can skip classes without penalty (in most cases) if you REALLY need to. But sneaking out of class on Friday because you can't wait to see 300... good luck tomorrow.

You get one hour of Saturday school if you do something like that. Some people there have racked up 30+ hours, and I think it was just from ditching school.

Although not exactly ditching (well, not at all), even if you get to Woodshop after the Tardy bell rings, you won't be tardy until the teacher calls your name on the roll. That's saved me tons of times.

Oh we didn't have Saturday school. Worst-case scenario was that kids had to come in on days off to serve their detention.
