When you were younger, did you believe or think anything dumb?

- I thought the other kind of gasoline, besides regular, was called "diet". In New Jersey (where I lived until I was 6), gas stations are always full-service; you have to ask an attendant to fill your tank for you and you have to tell them the type of gas you want. My mom would ask for "regular unleaded". She drank regular pop. My dad drank diet pop. So I thought when my dad asked for gas, he wanted "diet leaded".
- I really thought there was a Santa, Easter bunny, and tooth fairy. Then I was scared to death of them during my insomniac periods.
- I thought Alaska was really next to Mexico, like it is on the little box in the corner of most USA maps.

I tried to go into a video game (literally) once, around age 6 or 7...

I also thought dollars were used everywhere in the world, and that spellings like "colour" or "honour" were wrong.

I used to say gibberish like "sgirfhiueshipghipughuirehiger" etc. a lot, and my dad would jokingly call it "Tasmanian". Imagine my disappointment when I found out that people in Tasmania speak English.

Isn't it normal to believe in Santa and co. when you're younger? Or is it surprising for yourself, because you were superhumanly smart back then?
---
- I thought mothers gave birth to babies via the breasts.
- I believed I could clear a four-foot metallic fence. The rooster could've turned into a hen if I landed badly hard enough, if you catch my drift. Maybe.
- The keyhole animation in SMW used to scare the crap out of me. I thought that it'd eat me.
- I thought that the giant, sunglasses-wearing Cheep-cheep in SM64 would eat me (litereally), too.

I was horrified of the "ouch" face in Doom.

To this very day I don't like it.

I thought if I looked out the window on Christmas Eve, I would see Rudolph's nose glowing in the fog. I imagined this as a round red light in a featureless deep blue sky. Like most kids who believed in Santa, I wanted to catch a glimpse of him, but I did not want to see the creepy disembodied red nose. I still looked out the window.

I used to watch the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon on occasion. In one episode, a little kid got up in the middle of the night. When he stepped on the floor next to his bed, it started to glow, and he got sucked through the floor into the alternate world. For a while after that, I was terrified of the floor next to my bed, so I would jump on and off the bed every single time. At some point, I stopped doing that. I don't remember specifically thinking about it and coming to the conclusion that floor portals didn't exist in the real world. I just stopped.

I read up on the glitch, and it seems to be even more appropriate, since the guy is so surprised from getting hurt badly, but healing so much at the same time. Hell, I'd have the same expression too.

Oh, yes, and I remember that when I was small, I'd look at pictures on the wall in a way at night so they seem to be "dancing" (tilting) back and forth. I believed that this was actually happening.

I always used to think that turning off the TV will pause the program you were watching so that when you turn it back on it will be there for you still.

I tried that once. I wasn't really surprised when it didn't work, but I figured it was worth a shot.

Back in the mid-80's, I thought NES soundtracks were recorded live, just with really crappy instruments.

I would close one eye, then the other, and watch the thing I'm looking at shift back and forth. I thought it was actually moving.

I was convinced that something disastrous would happen if I accidentally pressed the power button before Windows 95 said "It is now safe to turn off your computer."

I thought all Snorlax's from Red and Blue needed to know Psychic, Fire Blast, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam.

When I first saw programming, I thought the comments were what told the computer what to do, and everything else was mostly just filler.

Same with me only I had a Mac.

Also, my parents used to put these little green sick looking smiley face stickers that said "warning poison" or something like that on them, on every drawer or cubbard in the house that had cleaning chemicals in it to warn me to stay out. Well, they worked because I was convinced that if I even touched anything with one of those stickers on it I would instantly die.

I used to think that (while my sister was playing) Chrono Trigger would eat me.

I also used to think (although only 9 months ago, when I first registered back in June) that Xk was a girl.
