Well... let's try again... (again )(it was incomplete)

Well, how often do you decide to go on a vacation? What kind of places do you enjoy vacationing at?

I'd usually go to other cities, see other relatives. I haven't gone to a ski resort or anything like that. I went to a beach two times, I think.

Every 2 years I go to visit my father that lives far away, on the odd year he comes to visit me.

My family and I go to the beach every year, and have for the last 14 years.

I'd like to try something different, but I dunno' what'd actually be interesting...

Depends on your definition of "vacation". I am lucky enough to not have anything like a neatly organized family life, so there is no ritualized vacationing and the borderline between work and play is constantly blurred.

Rarely, and if it is.. It's by the sea - I love that clean air.

Usually a few times a year to visit my mom and such at this point. When I lived with my parents, they would take a lot of short vacations to the same old rural parts of Michigan, which got rather dull.

I go to the Philippines sometimes to visit family and such. I'm going there later this year (since it just turned New Year for me) as well as going to mainland and climb Fuji-san again, with friends this time.

Although some of my friends and family joke that being here is a vacation in itself, haha.

I'm surprised to be the first one to vote for "Twice a year". Everyone's schedules are so different. Anyway, that's my answer for my schedule as of right now. However, it's likely to unfortunately change for the worst once I'm done school. I probably won't have a 4-month summer vacation to look forward to anymore.

Now that I think of it though, how long are we considering a vacation to be here (similar to what blackhole89 was asking)? I only included my summer vacation and my winter vacation, although I get March Break too, as well as an additional week for "Review Week" (which they basically tell us not to attend since there will be nothing new). So I guess... two major vacations as well as two mini-vacations. (And like I said, that will likely change considering I will be starting my final semester next week and finishing in May; then I guess I'll be on a permanent vacation until I get serious about working. )

Rarely. Mainly due to the lack of funds.

Usually helps if something is going on with the family that's in another state. Then it's a free ride to wherever it is.

Just having a quiet week or so at home is enough vacation for me. I rarely have a "formal" one.

Well, being a NEET/Hikikomori/bum/etc, my whole life is basically a vacation... but my uncle and cousin usually go to Florida once every year or 2 and bring me along. Me and my uncle are relatively close, since I used to live with him (Long story.) and we generally got along when I wasn't being a behavior problem (Which was actually fairly often! D.

I think "vacation" in part involves our capacity to shed our familiarities and try to be influenced by the expressiveness of our surroundings--to let ourselves be encapsulated by the world around us.

As silly as it may sound I don't think a vacation must be part of some trite ritual, or even a trip, but simply a way of experiencing life.

If it's that, I might well consider every day of my life a vacation...

We often travel about three to four times a year. We always go to Florida at least once, but we've been going, like, three times each year since my Grandfather died. Otherwise, we go to Maryland to visit my dad's family.
