being 16 wasn't much fun.
nothing new/interesting happened to me (and hasn't since I was 10 or 12), and I was pretty much alone the whole year. It flew by, and I didn't get to enjoy it. Makes me sad. I wanted to make some actual progress in my life in the passing year, and 28 minutes isn't long enough now, so I guess I failed completely and utterly there. I want new adventures to begin and old curiosities to fade away with this new year in my life, though I doubt it will happen. I will try again though, I always do... anyway, it's officially my birthday on march 16th in less than a half hour. I'm sick, I'm alone, I'm tired, I don't want to go to practice tomorrow, and I've already gotten my present (a nice electric guitar [godin freeway classic] an amp and accessories, as well as a class ring I'm getting) maybe I'm setting off my 17th the wrong way. I don't know, but hey, what can I do? sorry if this is spam, I just felt like posting it. |

I don't worry about ages to much. I just look at is as
Baby>Kid>Teenager>Adult>Elderly>Dead. I'm not sure what you're looking for as far as progress but as long as you enjoyed the things you did in the past year thats what counts. |

I didn't and that was pretty much the problem. I'm trying hard to be a different, arguably more effective person this time around.
I have specific goals as far as progress goes, but for me they are pretty steep. Hey, at least I'm better off now than I used to be. I'm moving up in the world! |

Posted by HigsbyTo even things out, I would add middle age and young adult. I should be technically a adult, but don't really feel like one. :/ Sometimes I feel like I had a pretty boring life so far, but realized that I still have a whole future ahead after I'm done with educating. And oh, Happy birthday. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Woah. I feel so old. Now I'm stuck with the other people who have stuck around but have few peers left.
17 is boring. It's much better when you're 18. Trust me. |

Life is different after high school. Instead of looking forward to another state-required year of acedemic torture, you actually have to make decisions about what you'll spend your time doing. The world doesn't quite look the same post-secondary. |

Posted by GuyPerfect I'm going to have to disagree. It's going to suck just as much as high school, I bet. |

Flurry #&postrank& Then of course, there's the many people who get their lives cut short for whatever reason and go directly from whatever they were at to corpse
I was 16-17 in 2000, which was right in the middle of college for me (not the "good old days", but not bad either) ... years actually seem faster as you get older, but that's not always a good thing either, after 20 at least Happy birthday anyway, one of my uncles will be 47 on the same day too ____________________ |

It seems that way for everyone Someone thought it could be since each year is a progressively smaller amount of your life
16-17 was hell, for me, at least... I'm glad to be 18 (well, kind of) except now I have to get a job and all that great crap ____________________ I dealt with it. |

I've never had a "hell" part of my life, thankfully... and 17-18 really wasn't that exciting for me. :\ Didn't do a whole lot back then... |

Posted by Acmlm Years DO seem to go faster as you get older.. And I don't think it has to do with you doing more either, at least not entirely so, but more that you gain some kind of perspective that wasn't there when you were younger.. *shrugs* Aging is a weird thing.. When you're a kid, you're in such a hurry to grow up, and yet.. when you get there, you want nothing more than to go back. You often hear it from older people when you're a kid too, but you don't realize it is true until its too late. Oh well, we've managed to turn this lovely birthday thread in every direction but the right one so far, heh.. Happy Birthday, spiroth10. |

[shrugs] I'm 22 going on 23 and really it's nothing different for me than when I was 16...it's just a matter of the situation always changing. |

I was 17 in 2004 and 2005, the two worst years of my life.
I'm not sure if this is true, but supposedly your percieved life (assuming a normal lifespan of 70-ish) is half over before you're 10 years old. Now that's scary. I've experienced the time speedup phenomenon, and most people I talk to have also. I remember a time when a month seemed like a year, and a summer was eternity. Now, 2004 feels like last week. |
