There's no easy way of saying this, but my ROM hacking days are officially over. I took down my ROM hacking site & I took down all my you tube ROM hack videos along editing some info at RHDN. I tried fighting it when I lost motivation on & off since this past summer, my life changed in such a way that going back for me isn't gonna happen. You see, in the summer of 2003 when I found ROM hacking I was going through a lot of shit at the job where I was working at.

They put me through a lot of not only mental but emotional abuse as well, so I needed something to vent and take my anger out. My whole life in general was shit too, but let's not sway away too much okay? To make it short, my life pretty much went to hell when my father passed away at the age of 6 when his kidney failed.

I was taught to keep things bottled up inside growing up, hence this is why I'm seeing a therapist etc. I used this hobby to escape my dark harsh reality, don't get me wrong I grew up and loved the NES though. The NES was pretty much my escape when I was a kid, that's right that gray box is the shit!

I just wanna say thanks to all of you, who were patient with me when I was learning how to hack. Thank you for taking the time with me through AIM, through PM's and such. I know I must of not been the fastest learner out there. Thanks for all the comments on my hacks over the years, it was one hell of a ride these past 6 years. And thanks to those who loved my hacks too.

My life is changing for the better though, earlier this year I met a wonderful woman who loves me for me. People out here on the net in high place are taking a shine to my cartoons, I get lots of visits from people all over the world with a map thingy on My Space. I plan on making a Googie Toons 2D game, so you all know that I'll throw some hack nostalgia in there with levels, names and such.

Don't worry, I'm not planning on leaving this community, you guys make me laugh! It's a little past 2am & I gotta hit the bed asap...

Well, Googie, I really don't know what to say. I'm sad to see you leave the ROM Hacking scene, you're good at it. Even though a lot of my respect for you, among other things, is in ROM Hacking, I have to respect your decision to stop.

Though I can't say I've been through what you've been through, I can say I can at least try to sympathize with the fact that life is rough some times because we each have our little bumps in the road that we call life. Some of us just tend to get those pot holes, you know.

I can relate with you that I was an angry child in the sense that through a lot of my public schooling, up until about 8th grade, I was always the butt of everyone's jokes and the one everyone made fun of, which made me bottle up a lot of it inside and just fuel the occasional outburst. I had the same outlet as you, video games, though not always NES, so the similarity ends there.

I think it only right to give you a few thanks because you were there helping me to learn what little I did about hacking. I'm really looking forward to seeing your toons as a game, I'm sure something like that from someone as talented as you will be a big hit.

It's good to know you aren't leaving us quite yet, the place just wouldn't be the same without you.

Why'd you do that? I'm not saying "OMG DONT LEAVE ROMHAXING", that's your choice; but, why would you take down info that is potentially useful to others?

Anyway, it's always sad to lose a ROM Hacker, but it's good to see you'll still be here, at least!

I agree with nightkev. you really shouldn't have deleted all your stuff, i honestly think that's NOT cool at all. it's always a great feeling when some people may potentially comment on your videos once in awhile, or want to check out your projects from past years of stuff you did.

i always get excited when i check the acmlm board uploader to see that the download counter for my 1st demo back in feburary 2009 has gone up a few times, or when i get a email saying that someone subscribed to me on youtube and such

sorry to hear you feel this way. so i wont ever be getting help from you for my hack i guess, i'll totally understand. But i wont complain.

Honestly, that's your life. If that's what you want in order to move foward in your life, then I'll support it.

I'm glad your life has improved and you are happy now. I'll always be your friend even if you never ROM-hack again. I'd probably be better off in my other creative endeavors if i dropped the ROM-hacking, its such a huge drain on time. Real life is more important anyway.
I to went through horrible shit in real life and have channeled it into ROM-hacking. And like you much of the horrible shit i went through has passed.
So good luck Googie, whatever you choose to do. You helped me more than anyone in ROM-hacking, because my life was irrevocably changed for the better one night when i made a decision that i had to see Googie's artwork and got a certain account to do it.

GOOGIE NO D:

Wait, you'll still hang out with us? Whoo, I thought I was gonna lose a dear old friend... Not that you post ALL THAT OFTEN, ANYWAY ;P

But it sucks to hear about you leaving ROM Hacking... It's your choice, in the end. Good luck with your life, man. Hope it all turns out well.

Thanks all of you, for supporting my decision. I felt like I would have been fowl for just leaving the scene & not saying a word, I only changed some stuff at RHDN like some personal info. As for the videos, let's just say that it was something I felt I needed to do.

Kuja Killer: I'm still willing to help you with your project as far level scrolling, I have a few levels printed on paper in a stash in one of my cartoon folders. E-mail me saying which robot master level weren't touched yet and how many screens are there that leads up to the boss & I'll take it from there. I don't want you to feel like I felt you hanging, your project is really good.

Jomb: We're friends for life man so that's not gonna change, I'll be honest with you when I beta tested your game more than ever that's when I wanted to make a Googie Toons 2D game. Making your game there's no limits so it's looking more appealing to me.

In a few hours to a few days, I'll release some editors that people thought vanished off the face of the internet before I zip up my ROM hacking folder and burn it onto a CD...

Well life's life I guess.. We grow and sometimes no mather what we change despite wanting to... and more responsabilities. For me romhacking has always had it's share of up and downs. But in the end I realized that I'll die someday (don't we all do) and I might as well leave something behind while I'm at it that'll might be played even after I'm dead.. and in a way that kept me motivated towards finishing something for once, but yeah that's me.

Anyway, keep it up, do what you want to do that gives you a better life and take good care of that woman will ya

You'll be okay Googie, ROM hacking is okay but after a while making your own game from scratch is better. Good luck in your future endeavors Googie!
