This time it's not sarcasm but perhaps a bit OT but DD did upload new vids to his YT account today. Although they are just DDR videos.

Ailure: I am pretty certain that the source that's out is outdated. Not sure what version it is, but I know DD's got the source for a newer build.
Better to wait on him then. For what we know, DD might be trying to finish Reuben before releasing the latest source.

Are there any doc about how hard it was to convert SMB3 to be able to handle single-tile data for levels? Any logs, any comments?

I believe there are various .txt files laying around with the source; not sure if they cover the new format comprehensively though.
I know he had heavily expanded the ROM and changed the mapper to get more RAM (and probably other features too).

I think he also makes the level editor use the original level data as "free space" on the fly too, especially as a annoying part with hacking NES games is making everything fit manually.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I was wondering if a Wall-Jump could be implemented in SMB3. I know he can do it with emulation if his vert. position is at a multiple of 16 (and other conditions are met), but could that requirement be changed to 1, allowing him to Wall-Jump anywhere? Thanks for you time, and I'm sorry if this isn't in the right place.

It's not. Try the General SMB3 Hacking Thread, it's a few items further up.
