That's great, but be careful. Not all .Net apps are suitable -- if they use the Win32 API, things get unlikely. Fully native .Net apps and/or apps that use cross-platform libraries are safe.

Ahh. Well, I tried one of the Reuben builds and it ran fine, so I guess it'll work.

Mono works with Wine to provide the Win32 API to .Net apps, or at least that is the only explanation I have for Lazy Shell somewhat working on Linux.

Yeah, Mono is what I use. So, how about that Reuben? I should make a script to auto-check the gcode repo for updates.

OMG DD IS ALIVE AND HE'S WORKIN ON REUBEN

Don't start bombarding me with questions/comments. I have KP9000's latest "bug list" and I'm starting to knock those out first thing. This is a friggin big project and it's going to take me a bit to remember how everything works.

Anyways...

Latest bug fixes:
-You can now set your own palette file.
-Fixed the issue with adding new palettes.

Just letting everyone know that DD's finally settled down (enough) to start picking up on Reuben again. Supposedly the plan is to work out the bugs before continuing on with features. Everything is still tentative though so just keep that in mind.

Edit: Holy shit, ninja'd... I posted it on my phone. I wondered who edited the damn thread title.

Ah. I remember having a short list of bugs with Reuben. Most of these dealt with creating projects, opening projects, creating projects again, and so on. I'll have to look into the problem again to see if it has been fixed or not. Just thought I'd bring it up in case it rings a bell and you did something about it yet.

That's cute.

I think it's a little undercooked. It's still barking.

Yeah, maybe further down the road we can get that Music utility up to snuff! I say we because I'd be willing to do whatever necessary that I am capable of doing. Also, I spoke to DJBouche regarding taking advantage of the two extra square channels that the MMC5 gives you. He understands that this means rewriting/revers eengineering the SMB3 music engine. So, if you have anything to show him just stop into #acmlm and drop off whatever notes you might have! I'm sure it'd speed up the process and promote activity of the project itself, since it's a big one.

You're counting on DJ Bouche to speed things up?
As in, the same Bouche that was supposed to make Track Designer 2 and help me with my SMK hack, who promised this and that, built the hype and all, then silently left at some point, so I ended up making my own Super Mario Kart editor?

Good luck!

This is what I'm talking about. Last time DD promised he would return he didn't. That was like 3 months before june. And MapleMario made me realize that he did something like this before. At least he did something before disappearing.

Yep, that'd be the same. But really, anything that can help me fill in the holes here is going to work. I mean, come on, who else is gonna fucking work on the SMB3 music engine? Whenever someone comes along and has the skills and is willing to work on it, guess what? You bet your ass I'm going to ask!

You people rely on these other people to do your shit then get pissed off when they don't come through? What the fuck? They don't owe you anything, so lay off. You guys should be lucky that these people use the information they have to make something nobody otherwise would due to lack of information and skill.

I don't want to hear shit from any of you unless you are paying them a damn salary.

[Note: I might rely on them but the difference between me and others is the fact I don't piss and moan when shit doesn't happen.]

You'll hopefully end up finding out reliability and motivation weigh more than skills. But yeah, I understand, you do with what you have.

That was incredibly stupid. Seriously... I thought you were a tad smarter.
Someone comes in, says "Hey guys, look at me, I'm gonna do that!", then in the end, he doesn't do anything and just disappears.
At least, I'd have appreciated if he had the balls to tell me he didn't feel like doing it anymore. That'd have been fine. But no, not a word. Simply ignoring PMs and mails.

You mean, like, all the information that Bouche had and didn't share with me, so I had to waste time weeks figuring out something he already did?

In all honesty, it may not sound like it, but I'm not mad at Bouche. I don't really care, and I'm not out to get revenge. I just expected better. Someone warned me about him at the time, but I still wanted to believe.

The fact I don't pay doesn't mean I can't expect people to have a sense of responsibility and ethics. But to each his own, I guess.

I'm out of this thread because I don't want to hijack DD's thread any further.

See, you got burned because you went into the whole thing expecting someone (or something from someone) to do something for you. If you don't expect anything in the first place and instead expect that they *won't* do anýthing, everything I have said will make sense. But that's precisely what I'm saying though, you really can't expect anything from anyone if you don't pay them or offer some other monetary value. The only exception is family, only in some cases.

As for derailing this thread: Honestly, I believe this is on topic somewhat due to those whining about promises.
