And this one's called "Atomic Spinwheel" for some odd reason.
A description wouldn't do it justice. xD

This is a regenerating cube, that requires you to navigate through re-appearing blocks to get to the core.

There's an easier way, but it depends on how much fun you want it to be. xD

Nice looking bosses Cate. I'm playing each of these, and going to give you a first-impression review, how's that sound?

Tape Worm: Very simple, but a nice use of tail parts. I never actually got into a situation where the boss wrapped around me like in your screenshot, so it felt like I was mostly boosting in a straight line to keep just ahead of it so I could hit its core with the mg. I'd say tone down on the vulcans a bit, and maybe add some homing lasers to help balance out the loss of vulcans and up its difficulty. I'd also suggest, if you're any good with extra parameters, to make the sonic blasts longer, and pull you in. It'd be much more likely for something like your screenshot to occur then. I encountered a small glitch. Near the very end of the fight, the boss went completely stiff. The tail flag must have gotten turned off somehow. Overall, pretty good for a beginner boss. 3/5

Clockwork: Love the visual effects done with the barriers, even if it caused a bit of lag. I felt that there could have been more firing while you were destroying the barriers, though. At least make the energy eggs a tad more frequent. I would almost put some energy eggs that would fire from the barriers, like having some that are in the last barrier on each "arm". Also, tone down the durability of the barriers. They took way too long to destroy. The additional weapons and such that were added on once the barriers were gone was a pleasant surprise, though the boss as a whole was very easy. Overall, I like it, it's just a bit easy. 4/5

Atomic Spinwheel: I'm not quite sure what to say, this was amazing. It was visually impressive, fun, definitely kept you on your toes, and the multiple stages were very well done. I wasn't expecting the fight to last as long as it did, but I was happy it did. Fantastic job, my favorite of the bunch so far. 5/5

Cube: Very cool concept and execution. took me a second to figure out what I had to do, but it wasn't that difficult to find out hehe. I'd love to see this regenerating block method used on a larger stationary boss. The fact that it moved made it very difficult to survive at times, and I ended up just drilling a straight opening to the core, firing at it, and boosting out before it turned. Pretty fun, and I liked the final stage (not spoiling anything for other people who'll play it). Great concept and execution, it just feels a bit odd having a boss completely centered around just this. 3/5

There ya go, all good bosses. I didn't grade you against Eboshidori, Atomic, or the like, as that would have been unfair haha. The ratings I gave you were based off how I felt about my early bosses, and the bosses I've played from other newcomers. Needless to say, you're pretty damned good for someone so green. Keep up the good work.

Thanks xD

The tail going completely stiff was an experiment, actually. It's the weirdest thing, since every person who plays it without being told of the 10% switch always notices something change right that moment, and pauses to investigate.

I'll probably replace the switch with something more useful (like boosters or maybe a laser, since like you said you tend to keep a distance in a straight line.)

http://acmlm.kafuka.org/uploader/get.php?id=3038

This one's called "Banshee"

It's got a glitch in it I found, you can't possibly miss it. Something that's neat with how things switch between hidden and normal modes. I had to erase most of the tails because it lagged too much to be practical at home. xD

But the neatness of this boss is how it's ghostly. You can pass through it without being harmed, even stand inside of it at length (provided you've destroyed the blades), but on every flash it absorbs any shots that were fired inside of it.

...More an experiment than a boss, though.

Speaking of Tapeworm, I used that idea you mentioned.

http://acmlm.kafuka.org/uploader/get.php?id=3047

It's like a space rodeo.

It uses events to change its speed depending on how far away it is, so it won't fly off into oblivion.

These are certainly good, early bosses.
There is some room for improvement, but nothing too serious.

Personally, I would change the 10% switch to be something like 15% or 20%; because I killed them before I could see what they were doing.

I love Life in general. Though I think it could use a few weapons.

Also, welcome to the community. Enjoy your stay.

I wanted to make a Fraxy boss that's difficult to look at directly. xD

This one's very easy to figure out, but also very difficult to destroy.

This one's not actually monkey-ish, but it turns out.. Making shapes out of spotlights is difficult.

This one's called "Event Horizon"

Just a mix of several different ideas, as well as a glitch I found.

http://acmlm.kafuka.org/uploader/get.php?id=3040

This one is called "Dim"

It's something more of a concept map. I wanted to make something that worked more like a big puzzle.

In this map, time only travels within 100 distance of the player. And sight ends roughly at 150 distance, except for some things.

I want to make a flying boss like this, but haven't gotten to it yet xD

This one is called "Miracle Core", inspired by CTR's naming scheme at the time.

Also, CTR helped tremendously with getting the moving joints working properly in the Spike core (you can't miss it), thanks! xD

This boss is themed to mimick Miracle Matter somewhat, like in Kirby 64. It's not meant to be a -perfect- likeness, it's just the general idea of it.

(Also, if you find any blatant glitches, please tell me, I've not found every last one just yet.)

Edit: Make sure to run this on Rank 1! This boss becomes nigh impossible to beat otherwise.

I realize this screenshot looks vaguely like the cloudy beasty from Kirby's Dream Land, but this is actually themed after the circular core monsters in Metroid Fusion.

It's named "Time Breaker", though I'm curious to see if anyone can hazard a guess at why. >.>

Also, this boss's first stage is -FAST.- Even expecting it coming, I have trouble avoiding it right off the bat 100% of the time. It's fairly easy to do once you notice the physics it follows. \o/

Time Breaker isn't too bad, having just fought it.
The best thing I like about the boss is the rainbow trail it leaves behind in the first phase.
Good job on this.

I'm way too familiar with Kracko.

The Metroid one, not so much.

The boss was inspired by the X-core thingy in the bottom screen first. In that game you destroy bosses, who morph back into cores of floating goo, covered in thick spiky shells.

...That hover against gravity and don't collide with walls, basically with you as their point of gravity >.< tumbling towards the player relentlessly.

I actually made the first stage of the boss after the second, because I needed something that would drag all of the little pieces around the map before making them visible, and reconstructing the boss.

I think we need to come up with a good nickname for you. Your bosses are really unique and seem to have soul or something. It could also be I like a lot of colors. Regardless, keep it up!

That tapeworm is nasty. For a tapeworm. Once you get caught in that loop of doom, it's over! I should of seen that happening...I should of taken it out earlier.
Maybe I'll beat the second version.

I thought Color Guard was a mellow fellow, but that all changed pretty quickly.
Due to carelessness, I was fried once more. Fun nonetheless.

I'm not even going to comment on atomic spinwheel. (Still need to get used to the controls.)

These bosses are crazy, and weird. That's a good thing.

Thanks Stageico. xD The Windsail boss takes advantage of that odd loop-around behavior. I need to revise color guard too, waaay too difficult.

A video of the boss Miracle Core, for those who don't play bosses >.>

Good job on these :3

Every time I take a huge hiatus from this game/board/wiki, someone with a new creative talent rises up from the unknown. This time, it's you; well done.

It almost inspires me to get into Fraxy again. Allllmoooost (Damned school, I've never been able to get into a good project in Fraxy without having to revert back to my studies).
