Editors for 2 are semi rare. The only one out there that is a windows one, kind of sucks.
I would recommend going for Mega Man III or IV, VI has some heavy encryption in it from what I've heard, but, I've not tried hacking it myself. III has graphical copies of things over and over for each stage. It's not a very friendly format, but, if you have patience it's nice. IV is friendly, except the First copyright screen is encrypted into the PPU (Sou it can't be edited easily). (Obnoxious I know), but, most people who have hacked it, if they don't want it to show They basically change the (I think) 6th number on the copyright screen colours (Check www.datacrystal.com for the exact info on it) to black. Honestly, you can edit any rom by hex, but, it would be a major deal. I would recommend getting Windhex (Google it up, it shouldn't be that hard to find). It's a bit frustrating at first, but, after using it for awhile, I think I like it the best. But., if you want something more friendly to newcomers,,, get Hexecute. I hope this helps. It's not exactly what you want to hear. Oh yeah, and from Mega Man III-VI you can use MegaFLE X. ____________________ セシル |

Rockman 2 Editor from Rock5easily should run on Vista. Although mine is only Windows XP. These editors works with both Mega Man II and Rockman 2 ROMs and all level editing formats carry the same ROM address.
Visine is also a Mega Man II Editor and has a LOT of features. Too bad it runs on DOS. And may not work on Vista. There are at least 4 Mega Man VI editors. Sixtans (DOS), Rockman 6 Editor from Rock5easily, another one from DHI but has unsupported features, and of course MegaFLE X. |

if you're having trouble running hacking apps in vista, use the compatibility mode settings in the app's properties. if you change the compatibility to winxp, most things should run fine. i find that it works quite well.
if you're going to run programs made for dos, try dosbox(megabuild 5 is pretty nice). |

Are you making a hack of both 2 and 6? I'd like to see an extensive 6 hack, so I'll support you on that behalf. XD |
