totally not a knockoff of this thread

Anyway, here's another one to get you started...

Torus Trooper - Ridiculously fast shooter game. No thinking required, but watching the pretty lights is fun.

(Don't just list games either, feel free to discuss 'em)

...Cave Story?

Oh whatever, this right here is an awesome game. If you ever download any game whatsoever, it should be this.

Then there's BLOCKSUM, which is a neat little arcade game where you combine numbered blocks to clear them. Kind of like tetris, with a bunch of numbers and sweet effects.

I can't believe no one mentioned Super Mario War on the knockoff thread. It's just awesome when you first play it. But then it slowly deteriorates...

Actually, it might be better to instead discuss them in seperate threads. That way, we can have in-depth discussion of many games at once without people going "I hope this isn't off-topic, but..."

I post in the name of Helix Games, and thus Jumper. Their Super Stickman Escape ate up quite a bit of my time too.

Ikachan http://www.tinsanity.net/ikachan/

Basically, Cave Story's older brother. I even think it might come from here... they are very similar in everything...

Ikachan is nice indeed.

Fish Fillets is a rather nice puzzle game.

Castle of the Winds - An old game, but still pretty cool to play. There are two parts to it.. after you beat Part I you can import your save to play Part II with all your stuff.

Ken's Labyrinth - Weird, Wolfenstein-like FPS.

For those of you who don't know, Digipen Institute of Technology usually releases freeware versions of the games their students develop. On that token, I'm a very big fan of Brigades, which is a well-developed demo of a game involving blowing up your opponents, and using their parts to augment your own army. The action is fast-paced, if a little buggy, and if someone released the source code for it it would definitely be able to become something very nice.

Don't miss my openTTD game, which is free... and if you have problems you can just PM me.

Second life, bit overhyped but it can be fun to screw around at times. Personally I find it a bit limited, and slow... but it's fun to build stuff.

It was always free as far as i know, but earlier you needed a credit card even for registering a free account, now you don't anymore.

Oh yeah, if you love golf, you can play Albatross18, which is 100% anime style golf. Think Hot Shots Golf, and you're already on track. You have to sign up for it, and some of the better gear costs actual money, but you can play it for free!
