You know how the events move really slow there. How do you change the speed of that? Hex edits or whatever...Thanks in advance. |

You change it in the OW editor. |

Link he asked about changing the speed of them, not the events themselves. As far as the actual asnwer goes, not sure. |

IIRC, you just need to repeat each step of the event. For instance, instead of doing 1-2-3, you'd do 1-1-2-2-3-3.
Got it? |

Posted by boingboingsplatPosted by RT-55J True, but he never specified if he wanted them faster or not. Anyways, I think he's smart enough to figure out how to speed up the slow events from the information I've given. |

Wow, Almost a half month later and I finally get a response :p
And no, repeating each step of the event does not change the speed of which the events are made. I wanted them to move like the normal event speed like in the other worlds. If you don't know what i'm talking about, play the FOI world and beat a level. See how slow the events activate there comparied to the rest of the world? Thats the best I can tell you. |

I know that I'm bumping a month-old thread, but I do have the answer to B.B.Link's question.
Changing a single byte of ASM code from BNE to BRA solves the problem. 26D42 Change from D0 to 80 to make the Forest of Illusion submap reveal its event tiles at the same speed as the other submaps ____________________ |

OK, soooooo... what do I change to make other maps move slow? or to make a certain event move slow and all others fast? or to even *gasp* make all events move in doubletime. |

I haven't looked at the code specifically, but judging by what Matrizzle has posted there to get all areas to do the slow thing you'd replace the BNE/BRA command with a NOP command to force it to execute the always run slow command...I don't know the hex code for that in SNES ASM though.
Other stuff you'd need to screw around with some assembly. |
