It's the longest word known in French.

I may have spelt it wrong, but it's so fucking long that one letter more or less will not make a difference.

Can you find longer words?

Rules: The language doesn't matter, but PLEASE DO NOT post 'words' like 'kjhnbgijkdrbghdfjbhidfjjbgdfjl-bgfnhgirsgbdfhbhfdjkbjkdfbjfvbj' or any other junk of that kind.
To make it simple, you can post any word as long as it's an actual word. No non-existing words. Got it? Now let's go!

Nope, mine's longer.

Are you sure? may be due to the font...
Ah, wait, no, you're using a monospaced font (Courier New)...

You beat me.

You didn't say what language that was (though apparently it's English (and the Portuguese longest word is 1 letter more, and it's the same word[1] lol)). >: (Also, you should change that emoticon to , it gets in the way a lot).

Suprisingly, "anticonstitutionnellement" was spelled correctly...
It simply means "in a non constitutional way"...

There is "anthropoclimatologiquement" (relative to people and climate), which is 26 letters long, but it's not found in common French dictionaries, just like "pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis" is not found in common English dictionaries...

Some other examples of (ridiculously) technical words that shatter the barrier of common vocabulary and word length...

hexakosioihexekontahexaphobieFear of the number 666
oesophagogastroduodenoscopieDiagnosis process
hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobieFear of words that are too long

And each of these words can be declined into their adjectival form, adding 2 more letters...

Marzen: That's sort of cheating though. The German word I posted was recognized by the Guinness WR people, and the Swedish word is in the dictionary.

Okay, you beat me... but all the words you posted are words noone knows because they're fucking too long and useless.

Mine is known a bit more. Though it's also never used because of its freaking length.

Hottentottententententoonstelling. An actually valid word in Dutch that refers to Hottentot tent exhibits. A lot of schoolchildren learn this word. But it can be enlarged a lot:

Hottentottensoldatenvrachtwagen-reservewielventieldopjes-tentententoonstellingsterreinen-toezichthoudersverenigings-gebouwenliftenonderhouds-monteursgebruikershandleiding-indexpaginanummertjes.

Don't ask me to translate that.

Incidentally, the Dutch Wikipedia mentioned that a certain museum once had an actual "Hottentottentententoonstelling" exhibit about tents. "Van berber- tot bungalowtent".

Hottentotten-what???

I can't believe that Dutch children are forced to learn that fucking long word. Even its shortest form is too long for me.

It's called a compound word, like "assbadger". Look it up.

Isn't that how the language works though, so really it's totally valid?

It totally is.

Here's one I just came up with. Not for length, mind you, but as an example of compounds: "raamzeemschoonmaakmiddelnavulverpakking".

So, in Dutch, you have words made of shorter words. Weird language.

*changes rules to forbid Dutch words* (no I'm joking no offence to Dutch people)

No offense taken.

I've seen weirder languages than that. Like... Korean. That shit breaks my brain. (likewise, no offense to Koreans)

Also, there are compounds in English too, such as "bittersweet".

I myself find that German is a weird-sounding language.
For example, 'achtung' is pronounced like 'artung'. ('achtung' is one of the rare words I know of that language.)

No offense to German people.
