When somebody is posting, they could click "Quote" and the text would instantly appear in their reply box. They could click another quote and so forth.

uh, no, it's not.
Clicking "Quote" in the thread preview in newreply won't add the text of the post to the reply box - it'll replace the entire contents because it reloads the page to accomplish it. What zbyte's suggesting is that when the "Quote" link in the thread preview is clicked, the text of the post is appended in a quote to the current Reply box. ____________________ we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties |

Right now, if you click on the quote link while posting a reply, you'll lose all the stuff you typed up. What I'm thinking about is the text from the quote instantly fall onto your reply. I suppose it would be nice to have this implemented (I think RHDN has this feature) but it's not that necessary. When you're replying to something, just right-click on whatever post you want to quote to open it in a new window, and then copy and paste what you want to take from it into the post that you've already been making. If a post you want to quote isn't available from the last few replies in the thread preview below your post in progress, right-click on Main, open up a new window and from the main page, navigate to what you need. If you're not willing to take the extra two minutes it takes to do this, why does staff need to invest their own time into implementing this when they're probably busy with other important tasks? |
