Yes fabian. And thank you too, means alot.

I felt that i wanted to tell everyone that I would like to have a 2nd demo for the public, but this will be it for awhile, i do not want to do this for every new completed level. Just only a 2nd time-only type of thing.

After duplex is all finished, i'd like to have a demo for all you guys. The reason why this 2nd official level has now already taken MORE time to do then boltman (first level)
Since boltman was from August 2008 to Feburary 2009
And duplex is from Feburary 2009 to present still currently ... well part of that reason obviously is cause of my slow-ness, i did nothing at all many times for a few weeks at a time even.

But then also a reason is because these 2 duplex levels altogether have all brand new enemies. Absolutely not a single thing is originally used from mm3. So it's been taking a very long time for me to code/program all the new enemies from mm-omega's very excellent spriting skills. Im thinking i will only end up coding about 2 more enemies for the space station level. (which is what im focusing on, while he's doing the other stuff)

I have no idea when this is going to be finished. Im predicting another month probably :| I'm really really trying to get this made so we may move onto our 3rd level. Im sure you guys will really like it though.

You should proberly release it on Christmas day. That would be a good present.

I decided I will take that name "Odyssey" for this game. I really like it. So then after 4 years it's finally the official name of this hack.

But i still want a sub-title, but i dont ever know what I want it to be since I dont have a true storyline yet, but this game WILL have storyline since i've got those text scripts i coded along time ago that i can activate at any time or place, in levels and stuff.

I also would like to have the megaman III logo on the title redrawn and stuff, but again i dont know what the sub-title name will be. I do plan on wanting to have both a japanese and english logo. Rockman and Megaman Odyssey depending on the game language setting that the player chooses.

Speedremix might be able to draw the logo design, but im not positive.

I don't know much about the Title Screen editing for Megaman 3-6 but I'm not very good designing it without screwing the sprite data up and text tables. That also means that I have to move it's new position.

I already know it works the same way as you make levels but I'm not a good designer.

Yea i figured so, that's alright. Well i dont mean that i would send my rom to a person to make the logo, i mean like if someone did it in paint or whatever kind of program they use, then i would be able to open their image in paint to careful draw it in with Tile Layer Pro, and YY-CHR copying it slowly.

Oh hey insect, i was going to say you could go ahead and like make a page on data crystal if you want about this game, it's totally okay. Assuming that those guys dont attempt to totally destroy all the rom hacking information of that site like how they once tried to totally delete the whole entire list of megaman 2 hacks.

Vixy updated the page on rockman PM for this yesterday which was pretty cool. - http://www.rockmanpm.com/?p=hacks/megamanodyssey

I haven't touch the hacks list in a long time other than adding data. But too lazy to write info on Rockman Sparking to Hero's updates. Sure, I'll add and write the info starting tonight.

Sounds a bit too "human" to me, if you know what I mean. Personally, I think "Megaman Odyssey" is fine.

Since the game is being hacked so thoroughly, though, might I suggest taking the 3 out? I have a feeling it'll scarcely resemble the original by the time you're done with it.

Yes, i do not need the 3 anymore. Most people do not keep the number in their hacks. I do not feel it's neccessary. Yikes totally forgotten to take it off the title of the thread

Well the title logo is now officially made and inserted into the game this past weekend. You all will see it once the 2nd demo is released.

Also since im still hoping to have duplex man finished real soon, I did a new extra thing to the Time Attack game mode that im hoping may really "prolong" this game's replay value for awhile im hoping. I wont spoil anyone saying what it is exactly. But hoping it'll last though for awhile since i do not have any plans on making another demo on each completed level. This 2nd one will be it for along time.

I know this time attack did not exist in the first demo, but well it will be in the 2nd. You'll all see what it is soon.

Anyway after this 2nd demo, then i want to try getting SERIOUS in hoping that a few people may be able to join this project.

I wish I could help, but I'm pretty swamped with school and my own projects (my SMB3 hack isn't the only thing I'm working on), but I will chime in if you need ideas or any kind of constructive criticism, as I've found having a second opinion on something to be very useful for this kind of thing.

New idea, huh? Can't wait for this second demo, as I've had one hell of a time trying (and failing) to get your first demo to run on my PC. I'm hoping this one will be more compatible.

Oh, and I know I've said it before, but work at your own pace. I know you've spent a long time on your project already, but that's just what it takes to get it done, y'know? I wouldn't be too concerned about trying to keep people entertained with constant updates or hopes that a new gimmick will add replay value; I think the sheer quality of what you're churning out is reason enough for people to play over and over again! Besides...these demo releases are probably hype enough already; if people can't infer the caliber of your work from what you've given us so far, then there'll be no convincing 'em.

I do have a question from kuja killer. In your hack, isn't hard to assemble Megaman Tiles esepcially the MM5 buster charge?

Mm well, i do say it does take a long time. I use both YY-CHR and Tile Layer Pro for putting in the graphics and stuff, like picking where to place them at, and then i have to construct all the frames/animations/settings and such in the hex editor by hand which takes longer.

I see, I currently placed all MM6 Tiles onto my MM4 rom and I've been trying to pick which common tiles used in the game and the others should be in another. Most of the arm throwing tiles (Like Pharoah Shot, Rain Flush) are being set in a new location.

I carefully put most of the tiles used in weapons slot so it'll be uncommon.

Speaking of time, I spent at least 5 hours a day trying to contruct all Megaman tiles using Matrixz's new version of Capcom Sprite Assembler and most of the common tiles used in the main game still needs to be fixed plus trying to add the MM6 buster charge animations.

How do you get the Capcom sprite assembler to work right?

When I use it, the objects are skewed weird, and like flat, it looks quite weird.

I used it occassionally and only 80% of the time that works for me. But I would like to make a Video tutorial soon and hopefully CAMSTUDIO doesn't make it slow. Anwyay, sometimes sprite tiles needed to load in a specific rom address then map. I only edit Megaman tiles by the editor while enemies by hex/hand.

Hmm, i was thinking.
How do you guys feel about a capsule upgrade system like the megaman X games for this project? It's been suggested to me by megaman-omega, and thantas-zero. But i did not feel like wanting to. But i've started to feel more like 50/50 between yes or no.

Would it be neccessary? I know 1 of 4 would end up being probably charging the 8 robot masters weapons for a cooler powerful attack, but i really honestly do not feel 100% comfortable about that for now.

But i mean i would want to have more alternate paths to take and such throughout the future of this game as the levels are made where you gotta use your weapons, or some other abilities (like these capsule upgrades similiar to the X series)

I've been playing Megaman zero 2, 3, and megaman ZX advent recently. And i like how the levels are all big with just lots to explore.

Note: This has nothing to do with how infidelity posted his most recent video of his hack how he'll have air dashing and wall jumping. I do not have any intention doing those things.

I don't really know about that. I don't feel right about it either. Speaking of Wall Climbing, Mega Man X6 is one of those games that you need the Ninja Armor to proceed to Gate's Stage 1 to climb these spiky walls. I do love that arm upgrade idea.

But whatever feels right for you, I would suggest it.

About your decision. You aren´t bound by anyones desires but your own.
If you feel positiv about it, than do it. If you are against it, than avoid it.

@Insectduel

Other than the Shadow Armour, you can proceed the stage with Blizzard Wolffang´s Weapon and the Jumper Upgrade.
