Thank you VERY much.

I experimented with that, and here is what I have.

$34352

Values:
Megaman -02
Proto man -04

By the way, you change "02 = speed in between frames".

If you change: "09 = how many frames " it does nothing.

Maybe I do the same for Mega Man IV also but thanks for the advice. Mega Man III has some empty space around in the $19100's. To bankswap the code as Konchuu showed me before, I have to use A90E 85F4 206bFF 20XXXX. This tells the machine where you put the code at the starting point at ROM Offset $18010-$1A00F.

It sucks not finding freespace in the hard wired bank myself but it's the only slot I knew in Mega Man III hacking.

EDIT: If you use the Protoman whistle patch already, the space is used at $191F0.

Just wanted to let you know the Proto Man whistle patch works great! Thanks! Still having trouble getting Proto Man's knockback distance the way I want, so I'm going to leave it alone for now, and come back to it later. Thanks for all your help.

Mega Man III's knockback distance is: $34352 [02 is default]
Mega Man IV's knockback distance is: $1A727 [02 is default]

02 is Mega Man's Knockback Distance
04 is Proto Man's Knockback Distance.

Although, I've changed it in the rom already.

Yes, the videos have been removed for several reasons... The most important being that the level designs have changed quite a bit since I posted the videos. Also, this hack is currently on hold...

I'm in the military and may be going back over seas. So I have very little time to work on it. I also lack ASM skills... so I'm not able to do everything I want, like give Proto Man his charge shot from MM9, and change the ending so that Proto Man isn't showing up to the rescue to save himself, like he saves Mega Man when Wily's Skull tower starts to crumble. I would like to see a good solid Proto Man game one day, and had hoped to be the one to make that happen, but as of right now, I just don't have enough time to learn. Maybe someone else will do a good Proto Man hack sometime down the road...

I'm not saying my hack will never get done, I'm just saying it still needs a lot of work to make it feel like a new Megaman title. I orginally wanted to figure out a way to be able to switch between Mega Man and Proto Man in the game, but as i said... I lack the knowledge. Like you, I'm learning all I can as I go.

Kuja Killer's hack looks amazing, and he's been very kind to me with questions that I've had, also Infidelity's Mega Man Ultra 2 is another hack I'm looking forward to. Those guys really know their stuff, and I'm sure just by reading the threads here and there you could pick up some things from them. Do you have any big plans for you MM3 hack? I can help with sprites and level designs, as I drew my own Proto Man sprite, I didn't make a copy of the one already in the game. I wish you luck on your hack, and will be tracking the progress. If I can help in anyway, let me know, I cant promise I'll be fast about getting things done, but I do get things done, just at my own pace.

I'm still working on our Proto man game as well.

I figure if I could figure out how the game "Little Sampson" does it, it may help us switch between Mega Man and Proto Man.

This project is a dream now for both of us, even if you can't work on it, it will still be worked on.
