Me, Stark and Cirvante have been discussing this for a while and we've finally completed the majority of rules / bans on units / map plans / tournament setup in general, so now we're ready to have you guys sign up

Tournament Website

Download CW, using this will be much quicker than AWBW (thanks Xenesis)

For those of you who are new to the game, looking up Advance Wars on Wikipedia or the website above will fill you in on the basic idea of how to play.

For each round of the tournament there will be CO Bans and Unit bans. This is because some of the units / COs in general are pretty broken (e.g Colin who uses money to boost his units attack power dramatically) or would have a huge advantage on the map (for example, Sturm, with 8HP map damage to units)

Depending on the amount of users participating, there will be more rounds. The way this will work is that you'll sign up, I'll put your names into a VB script that pairs them up randomly, and then you'll play each other. The nice thing is you don't need to be online at the same time, you can continue your game at any point, until the time I give you. The winner of each match will go up to the next round, as this would be the simplist way of doing it.

Well most people don't have DoR so....

In regards to FTA; if I disable FTA by placing a unit on the other side, they get FTA. The FTA doesn't matter so much in this map because it's really a matter of defending the little islands with a cheap recon unit or something.

The 1-inf standard FTA counter is recommended because otherwise Red's likely going to be able to take both factories.

Also regarding bans: You're banning Von Bolt and not banning Sami and/or Sensei? Whut? (Also, no BB ban?)

why ban black bomb when theres no airports

Von Bolt is banned because of his incredible boost in power along with map and palalysis attack. Sami has weak defense which makes up for her super troopers, and sensei may possibly be banned but I really do not see any major problems with him on this map since there are no airports which means only his troops are good.

Oh right. I thought they were standard rules for the whole thing.

Von Bolt is banned because of his incredible boost in power along with map and palalysis attack.

His power boost is good, but it's barely better than Hawke's. Regardless, he's a weaker CO than either Sami or Sensei and is about as powerful as Kindle or Lash.

sensei may possibly be banned but I really do not see any major problems with him on this map since there are no airports which means only his troops are good.

The map has cities, Sensei is broken.

considering sensei doesn't have good attack or defense with tanks, he is fairly balanced out. If there was also airports, I would ban him. Without bcopters he's just more of a nuisence if anything.

Regardless, he's a weaker CO than either Sami or Sensei


Map paralysis is the reason, and he's a lot stronger than Sensei.
