Except for the, y'know, lack of transparency and general flaws, it looks a lot less terrible than the existing . But after touching it up, let's see a side-by-side comparison.



As you can see, it's almost not horrifyingly ugly and nearly expresses an emotion.

Use something better. Paint doesn't support transparency as far as I know. I use a program called mtPaint, which is alright, but has some interface weirdness that you'll have to get used to.

As for the smiley itself? Meh. If it's your first, it's fine, but certainly a first.

When doing my own spritework, I totally just do everything in MS paint and then copy and paste it into irfanview to save transparency.

Closed eyes are often drawn as (usually upward-pointing) arcs. Now consider the amount of space to work with.
