Haha, I'm highly amused at how you're handling this situation. I mean, I don't want to laugh at misfortune, because that's not my intention, but your demeanor in this case puts a bigass smile on my face.

I can see why you'd feel this way; I've been in the same boat with my parents. At present though, it's just become absolutely ridiculous. They're like "Fix our computer" so I go and do so. Then, on another date, I ask them to get on their computer real quick to surf, and they go "You're not gonna fuck it up, are you?"

So I just flat out told them I'm not touching the pieces of shit they call computers until they grant me the fucking recognition that I'm the one fixing their shit and saving them money from having to take it into a repair shop.

That only works now, since I'm out on my own, but if I had said that while I was living, I would have been kicked out on my ass.

I'm not in "happy drunk" mode anymore, I'm in "angry douchebag" mode now. I dunno why, but I'm not in much of a good mood anymore.

So.... you're a happy drunk, and then a mean drunk? Fuck, you must have some seriously shitty hangovers. But yeah, parents piss me off too. (I was gonna say some shit about being thankful for parents, but I don't give a shit right now.)

I'm not an angry drunk at all, I'm either happy or funny. I'm just starting to sober out again since I've not been drinking much. I've been thinking, and it's killing my mood, and I'm getting kinda depressed again. I should probably stop now before I come across as schizophrenic because of being happy, then being a total fucking killjoy.

So I just flat out told them I'm not touching the pieces of shit they call computers until they grant me the fucking recognition that I'm the one fixing their shit and saving them money from having to take it into a repair shop.

Fortunately I have been able to convince my parents of this, while still living at home. I believe it has something to do with having been the one who initially messed up the computer. When I first learned the internet, I would crash the old Win98 machine about once every three months, so I eventually just learned to fix it myself. The process continued and I got better at it, until the early 00's, when everyone and their dog started pirating shit and downloading trojans. Then I began covering for other family member's mistakes, and wound up with a computer of my own.
Since then, I've only badly mangled things once, and that was with my own computer when it froze during data transfer so I cut the power at the switch, which fried the motherboard entirely.

Anyway, I now fix issues as they happen with the family computers, and it's generally accepted that I know what I'm doing, so nobody really gives me flack about it anymore.
----------

As far as drinking, I'm a happy drunk too. It's not abnormal for me to just roll softly on the floor and laugh after I get far enough along.

I'm more the guy that sits there and cracks wise. I don't drink heavily enough to start stumbling and that shit.

See, that's the way it was for me, too, except for my parents still haven't really come around fully. They're stubborn people focused on the past and won't let shit go. And I never did half the shit you did either. But whatever. They fed me, so I took their BS.

I usually have pretty good balance when drunk, and I have never been hungover before either. On the occasions that I drink, I'm not a 'blackout drinker.' I would attribute my behavior while under the influence to the amplification of my typically jubilant attitude.

Ya know, in retrospect my parents have always been strangely tolerant of my screw-ups. The best reasoning I could give is that I'm the only son in a family full of rather ..... loquacious girls.

I just got a decent set of dice tonight. I'm happy, because now I can play D&D again if my friend finds his books. I gave him motivation to look, because I told him I'd DM a campaign if he found them quick enough.

I totally will, too.

Here's the set I got:
5d4
10d6
6d8
10d10 (3 double digit, 7 single digit)
5d12
and
7d20

43 dice in total. They cost me just shy of $15, which isn't bad considering nowhere around me sells dice. My buddy is opening a shop soon, and gave me first pick of his stock since he's gonna sell shit like Magic, Yugioh, and the like.

If you count the d10s I use for Magic (my d20s don't count, because lolSpinDown), my usable die count is 47. I love it!

Fuckin' sweet.

I've been wondering if we could get together a live-action D&D group over IRC or something. Might be fun.

I bought a few packs of Magic cards today from the New Phyrexia expansion. Out of my five packs, I wound up pulling the Planeswalker that everyone wants to get their hands on. Karn Liberated.

He's a fun Planeswalker, but he doesn't fit my style all that well. I would only run him in a deck if I had at least one more copy... Although, being a Mythic (despite being a common one) it'll be tough to get another with my luck.

I nearly shit my pants when I noticed this happened.

In other news, I'm finally getting over my cold and am actually looking forward to starting work on a new post layout.

...Why do I feel motivated? This isn't like me. I never have motivation.

Hmm... I believe I might be able to build a house with all the bricks being shat right now. As for something to do with your motivation, you could probably work on a new layout. Whaddya think? Night-themed layout with pretty stars and moonlit clouds? Worked for Amaya-san.

Never heard of this Amaya-san.

The whole "night" thing is pretty well secured in my future plans, though. I just have to figure out the best way to implement everything else...

And now my mind is filled with assorted visions of what could be. Blar!

You could do a twilight version of it, with Billy looking towards the sunset. Shouldn't take too much modification of his little sprite to make it work. The sky doesn't even have to be gradient, could just be a palette swap. I think your existing layout has amazing potential.

And I think that if you even attempted a three-heart run you're enough of an avid player to know who Daisuke Amaya is.

[14:59:18] [nick] Ya'll should just make working [youtube] [/youtube] tags or whatever like most other forums
[15:00:48] [Kawa] There.
[15:00:56] [GreyMaria] hmm
[15:01:01] [GreyMaria] I just got this brilliant idea
[15:01:13] [Kawa] Board2 should support [youtube] tags.
[15:01:23] [Kawa] I agree, GM. That's a great idea.

My idea first. Make it happen. KTHX

Oh HELLO.

I believe KP9000 has officially influenced my layout.

In other news, I was digging through The Staff Basement for the lulz when I found this.

It got me to thinking that we might be due for a new board banner.
