Not the first one I seen parodying that song with video games, but defiantly the best (then again I'd probably like it due to it's Nintendo bias ).

(Ailure, you keep using "defiantly" when you're looking for the word "definitely". Just fyi. )

It's official, guys, don't stay up til 3 AM working on Java code. You will be twitching through the rest of the night.

(On an unrelated note, precisely 16 posts until POSTRANK++ and then I get to start working on the god tiers.)

I added that misspelling into my spellchecker at some point accidentally, I need to remove it.

Sleep deprivation and problem solving does not go well together. Then again, I have plenty of fond memories trying to finish projects at latenight.

So, on a more weeaboo note, I watched the Haruhi movie which came out on optical media at long last not too long ago yesterday.

It was positively awesome, although I wouldn't recommend it unless you have at least seen the first series; they don't bother to give a universe introduction to those who need it (which I wouldn't consider a bad thing).

It reminds me...
I burned the series on DVD some time ago and didn't watch it yet...

I have been marveling in Carl Sagan's wisdom by partaking of some Cosmos goodness. I could watch that over and over again. I wish I had it on DVD...

When you watch a whole series in a row, the recaps tend to get annoying. Hadn't time to do that with a series in a long time...

I meant I don't consider not giving recaps a bad thing. In fact, I consider giving them bad more often than not; it fundamentally breaks the fourth wall in a cringeworthy manner.

Even worse are whole episodes dedicated to recaps. Anime's are generally guilty of doing this for some reason. Clip shows exists within many western shows, but I hadn't heard of a recap episode.

I agree COMPLETELY. I remember when I always watched shows on cartoon stations that dedicated lots of episodes like that. I think that sped up my aging process.

So I was playing Dark Dawn, going along and kicking ass.

I went back to reference the book to make sure I had everything... I missed one ever-so-important thing, and I can't get it because of lol-point-of-no-return. >:/

Now the best I can finish with is 71 Djinni (18 Venus, 18 Mars, 18 Mercury, 17 Jupiter), and it pisses me off so much because I have all the cool shit like Excalibur (crafted on the first shot, too) and two instances of the Zol Ring/Hover Greave combo (2.7x total Agility modifier). Should I suck it up and finish, or ragequit and restart?

Jupiter Djinni, Wisp, in Sana Town's well.

I saw it and thought I'd go back for it later, but I forgot all about it. You can't go back to Morgal after you escape on Briggs' ship. There's a beach right by Port Rago, too, but a fucking iceberg blocks the ship's return.

I guess I'll finish this run with Sveta not having all 9 of her Djinn, since Karis is my main Jupiter adept anyway.

I figure it would be stupid to let those RNG manipulated crafts go to waste.

Heads up for you: your Quality Zol should go toward at LEAST a second Zol Ring (Agility x1.8) and two Hover Greaves (Agility x1.5), it does wonders for your slow characters.

Examples from my file (Since they're what I currently have set up):

Matthew: 8 Venus Djinni set
Normal: 256
Greaves: 384
Ring: 460
Both: 691

Tyrell: 8 Mars Djinni set
Normal: 190
Greaves: 285
Ring: 342
Both: 513

This is quite possibly the worst thing in RPGs ever. Neither of the original two Golden Sun titles did this (unless you count missing something in the original when transferring over to GS2, I suppose), so to suddenly see the third do it demotivates me from wanting to play it.

I'd rather not have to pull out and consult an FAQ while playing the game for the damn first time.

I was thinking for a bit about possible points of no return in the first two games, then I realized there were always ways to work around them.

The one that immediately came to mind was the Karagol Sea and the northern road being blocked, I remembered the Gondowan Cave to the southeast of Tolbi.

I think Camelot was being lazy when they were putting this together, because there are nearly plausible return ways, but the dumbest shit blocks the path. The icebergs by Port Rago are a fine example.

I hate points of no return, unless it happens early in the game and it dosen't matter if you missed stuff.

So the year is ending, any thoughts?

Well, something along the lines of "another year over and I still didn't get anywhere", perhaps...

In Golden Sun, missing a djinni is a big thing since it affects your stats and abilities, and they're scattered everywhere. I missed one that I know I saw on the dungeon map, but forgot to get it because it slipped my mind, and now I can't get it.
