I haven't really been following Pokemon since the DS games. Are the new Gold/Silver ports worth playing? Are they even out here in the states?

They are not out yet.
They sure are worth playing.

I love SoulSilver, I'm playing a battle-only translation while I waiting for the release. My only issue with it is that the ROM crashes consistently in Violet City.

DeSmuME is the name of the emulator. I like it a lot better than no$gba because it can actually render polygons without seeing the frames of the shapes.

Ok, Is your computer fast enough to run DeSmuME at full speed?
The game is just as crashy on a real DS + Flashcard

Most of the ROMs I have run at full speed, but then again, the ones that run full speed are the ones that don't use 3D textures.

My computer can barely run NO$GBA at full speed (On games like SM64DS).
And the thing is about to die if I try DeSmuME, but it's nice for recording...

Thread Renamed because the old was was pissing me off. And because that stuff is cool.

And I just play on a real DS since no computer of mine will run games on an emulator.

Besides, there are barely any good DS emulators yet.

DeSmuME is pretty flawless (As far as I know) Everything I've tried on it works, but it sure is slow...

no$gba works just fine for me, for most of the games I've tried to emulate.

It still doesn't do M&L3 though. :<

why the fuck does this thread say "new" even if I'm the last one to post in it

DeSmuME is a lot better than no$gba, it runs a lot of things no$gba won't, even if it means a slight speed cut.

And it emulates semi-trasparancy properly...
Look at the effects in the Pokemon games when in battle, they look like shit in NO$GBA but they look as they should in DeSmuME...

I used DeSmuME the other day to try and play Pheonix Wright because NO$GBA didn't save the data correctly... the game wouldn't even play right. So I dunno... I prefer the fast speed anyway, to graphics that aren't really needed.

Phoenix Wright wouldn't save on No$GBA because you need to set the save media. I don't remember what you need, but do some experimenting.

I tried everything there, if I remember correctly. If you COULD find out what it is, that'd be so totally awesome

In order for the settings to finalize and let the game save, you have to restart the emulator. Also, Google is you friend.
