Maybe one of the newer versions got screwed up

I don't think so, I've got 2.0.0.2 and no problem whatsoever.

1.0.7 here, never had a problem.

A lot of people complain about firefox now, but back in the 1.x versions, it was great. I seldom ever have problems with it. The only thing that sometimes causes problems is java applets sometimes freezing the browser when they load, but that happens so rarely, it's not an issue for me.

...an excellent reason to add to my collective pile of "Why Flash fucking sucks".
Yeah, it's indeed flash. I guess any browser would be insecure when you use... insecure plugins. :/ I should check if it's possible with Java applets, but I doubt it as Java VM goes nazi about security. (which makes some applets... interesting to develop).

I can confirm that Firefox throws a warning if a javascript tries to access the clipboard. Badly written script on a course forum...

But Thexare is right. While I don't mind browser debates, they shouldn't appear in the middle of a help threads.

I don't like how several options were removed from the preferences box (remaining as hidden settings) in Firefox 2.x. Such as the one where you ca choose to open "new window" links in the same tab, as I hate links that open new windows/tabs.

Close Firefox, then go to
Start -> Run ->
"X:\<pathtofirefox>" -p (the quotation marks are only neccessary if there are spaces in the path; more important is the space before the parameter -p)

The Profile Manager pops up, and you should try browsing the page with this new "naked" profile". Reinstalling alone doesn't help, since Firefox stores all cookies, the temp folder etc. in your profile folder by default (doesn't get removed after uninstalling FF automatically).

If you can copy and paste without problems again, then add any extension one by one, until you find the one, which causes the problem.
