I cannot believe there isn't a thread yet.

Anyway, I'm particularly pleased with this year's E3. It's BACK!

I liked Microsoft's and Nintendo's press conferences, but I absolutely hated Sony's. I kinda liked Mod Nation Racers or whatever it's called, but I'll most likely miss out due to the fact that I'm not going to drop for a PS3 to get it.

The highlights for me:

Project Natal
This seems interesting to say the least. I will give it a try. I just hope it doesn't cost me $300 to do so...

Mass Effect 2
I've been looking forward to the sequel for quite some time. The second game in the series is said to be the darker, second iteration in the Trilogy. I just hope I have a working console by the time this comes out.

Super Mario Galaxy 2
Oh hell yes. Loved the first one, I can't wait for this one. Nintendo really surprised me with this one.

Golden Sun DS
Nintendo blew me out of the water with this one as well. I can't believe it's coming back! I loved the first two games... and they wrapped them up pretty good. I didn't think that the way they ended the series that they would have come out with another one. Then again, I don't know anything about the storyline of this game, so we'll see how this turns out.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Not as psyched about this one. It's pretty cool that you can play 4 player on this, but I just don't see anyone I could gather up playing it. It's pretty cool that it's another Mario game though. gotta love that treatment by Nintendo!

Metroid: Other M
This is the biggest of them all. I think the name is pretty fucking stupid, but it's okay because I feel pretty good about who's jointly developing this with Nintendo: Team Ninja. The same people who brought us DOA and Ninja Gaiden are developing this game. These people also developed DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball too... so who knows what might happen to Samus. They finally were able to add in the Speed Booster in this iteration of Metroid game. The whole thing seems to be a mixture of both first person and third person, which is an awesome idea that I think could really work for the Metroid franchise. The camera angles I hope are just cinematic, as the ones in the trailer were nauseating.

Night Game
I want this game. Everything about this game reminds me of my childhood; drawing little tracks on paper that I would follow through again with a pencil as if it were a little car... imagining the physics that would come into play. Loops, jumps, etc... This is what I've been waiting for. The artwork and music of this game fits it so well, I don't think it could have been done better with any other art style.

Cave Story
I applaud Amaya-san for bringing a completely independent game to a mainstream console. Nicalis is doing a great job porting/remaking this game for the system. I can't wait for this one either.

All of this will keep me busy for quite some time.

I never actually *went* to E3... I had passes for '06 and '07, but got screwed out of going *both times*.

I imagine they were both there; Who wouldn't want to be looking over their "baby" while showing off to the masses? Their blog got some major attention, why not at E3'09?

Sony's was impressive, and was really let down with what I saw from Nintendo.

I've noticed lots of people say either this or the direct opposite; They loved Nintendo's and was disappointed with Sony's. It really depends on your point of view. I personally loved Nintendo's keynote. I didn't really expect much from Sony which kept me from getting disappointed. I basically watched the whole keynote with the fact that Sony loves to shit on its customers in mind. Six out of eight games were blood, war, and explosions. That, my friends, is asking to be raped by Michael Bay.

On an side note, and it doesn't even have to do with E3, Monkey Island (the very first) is being remade! It's got voice acting, Graphics revamp, UI changes, and a hot button to switch back to the old graphics on the fly!

I hope it's one of those games that gets renamed; or just a game whose Japanese name hasn't been localized yet. Chances are slim, since games usually don't get renamed. Then again, Nintendo has done it before. (Wii)

Am I the only person who played Monkey Island original with the PC Speaker sound option because I was a sorry excuse for a gamer and didn't have a sound card?
