delete all of the files inside the folder first, if there are sub folders in that folder you woulld have to clear them the same way.

If there are still files in the folder, open the folder, press CTRL+A to select all of its contents, and try to delete them like that; then, try to delete the empty folder from the parent folder. You may be forced to do this recursively if the error pops up when deleting folders within the folder. I find that this works sometimes, and if it doesn't work, it can at least tell you about corrupt files and cyclic redundancy issues.

Ok, well it worked until it came to the "images" directory. When I try to delete it, same error. When I try to open it, I get a box asking me if I want to format my drive. Which is fine, since that's what I'm trying to do by deleting these very folders, but since it CAN'T format for some reason (You know windows, they tell you the what, not why).

I COULD pop in a DVD drive I have, pretend I'm installing windows on it and format it from there but damn what a stupid hassle.

You can only fuck a dead horse for so long. You tend to move on to fresh meat, or at least should.

I prefer a front-end, in other words. That's all.

I know this is a silly question, but are you trying to format the C: drive? Other possibilities as to why it can't be formatted, and why it would be malfunctioning in strange ways, is you're on a limited account or the drive is fucked.

What you could try doing is going in to disk manager (start -> settings -> control panel -> administrative tools -> computer management) and deleting the partition, then recreate a new NTFS partition from there. It should just format over it while ignoring any inconsistencies with the existing filesystem that it might've choked on before. Disk manager may also be more willing to give you more meaningful errors, if it is a hardware problem.

Not helpful, KDE.

Also, RM: sometimes commandline is still the way to go. At any rate, you might also want to try running chkdsk on that drive as well ("chkdsk C:" if I recall) to see if that finds any issues with the drive.

The directory may be in use by something else, close all programs that may use that directory via Task Manager, I tend to get this alot, and that should help.

KDE, stop being a linuxfag.
