Last view: 5295 days 		I've seen a lot of boards that have a badge system...And I think this should be implemented. The Admins could give you the badges based on projects/posts/threads etc.

Badge examples:

Admin
Moderator
Hero Mod: Mod who is helpful and respectful
Hero Admin: Admin who is ^
Hero: Person who is helpful and respectful
Dead: Person who has not posted in over 100 days.
Undead: Person who has been banned before.
Hammertime: Person who has been perma-banned.
Original: Person who has been with the board since the start. The admins/most people should know who they are, since I can't really define "since the start" means.
Vacationer: Person who has an explained leave.
Spatu-licious: Person who seems to post random things, i.e. a lot of spatula forum posts.
Enlightened: Person who posts thoughtful and smart things.
Explorer: Person who has posted on every forum.
Secret Explorer: Including the "secret forums".
(For these the admins could judge if it was a post, to post, or an actual informational subject to the forum. No: Hai guyz. If forum is old don't bump it.
Baserunner: Someone who has contributed to B2B, I heard there was already a prize, though.
Spatuler: Someone who has contributed to the ToS.
Hacker: Someone who has posted in one of the hacking forums.

Just a few examples. I'm sure you guys can think of hundreds more.

I think you haven't quite thought this through.

Same, by the way, goes for the badly attuned to each other definitions of "dead" vs. "undead".

Other than that, certain ideas for a more automatically regulated and well-defined achievement system have been floating around for a while. It's a question of time and motivation until someone picks it up and it might be possible to take some ideas from your list too.

I been considering picking it up, since I suggested it a quite few times in staff chat and all that.

Pretty much boils down to "What achievements?" and "How do we make sure people don't do abusive stuff to reach a goal?". Oh and that someone need enough free time to bother implementing the thing.
