I think I got mine for about $30 over 2 years ago, but it can't quite fit everything for N64 either ... still enough to be playable, but I have to use the second analog control for Start and Z, unless I use it for the C buttons instead

But the analog sticks were still sensitive? I mean, it's not like turning/moving around only works if you tilt the sticks all the way, right?

Well, I found this at Target.com, and it also said it's available in stores.

Would it be possible to buy such a 'pad from Wal-Mart or Target...?

I have one almost exactly the same as his, and I bought it from Wal*Mart for, like, $20 American. If I remember correctly, they are still on sale there for about $20.

Edit: Of course, Wal*Mart isn't selling them online, so I can't exactly get a picture yet, but I swear, I will find one (I know our local supercenter still carries the one I bought, so let's see if I can find it...).

Edit the 2nd: Here it is the Saitek P2500 Rumble Gamepad. It's worked for me for about 2-3 years now. I highly recommend it. They're currently on sale for $25 on their online store.

I use the 3 in 1 magic joybox. It works great! I got it for about $13 on Ebay.

I only prefer emulation because it allows me more flexibility. If there's nothing on TV to turn on in the background, I can go extended desktop with my TV and play full-screen on the TV with messengers, irc, etc. on my laptop screen. However, if there's a game on ESPN I want to see while playing, or something, I want the TV freed up; if I was using a normal console I would have to make a choice. Also, there's nothing I can do on an older console that I can't do with the setup on my computer; even better, I've had wireless PC gamepads for a while now, something no console had for the longest time.

Yay. Just got a new gamepad. It's basically a knockoff of the Playstation Dualshock controller. Even the four buttons to the right match the colors of the X, Triangle, etc. buttons. The Start and Select button have the same shape (Start's a triangle, Select's a rectangle), and the Analog button is right under it. Four shoulder buttons, as well. The gamepad itself is white. It also has a retractable USB cable.

DS, flash cart and NESDS. Win win win. Pretty unique experience, actually.

(Now I need to see about getting SMS games working on this...)

It seems I'm the only one here that doesn't like emulation... at all.
The only time I used any kind of emulation (And liked it), was when I played EarthBound Zero.
The real thing just gives me a better feeling then the fake feeling of playing it on a computer.

Call me a tradionalist, but nothing can beat the real deal.

Simply put, and I totally agree.

But, I don't have anything against emulation. Heck, there's still a handful of some of my top favorite games that I've only been able to play through emulation (Seiken Densetsu 3 comes to mind).

But, if you've seen my videogame collection, you can probably tell I get a kick out of actually owning the real games, not just to own them but to play and experience the real thing. It just has something else emulation will never be able to have for me, all the way down to simply putting in the cartridges / games into the console, and so forth.

One thing that really bugs me though, is when people can't seem to respect the fact that some people just simply enjoy the real thing more. Recently I went through a few arguements with some friends, because I was really wanting to get a real copy of Chrono Trigger (finally did). All my friends could throw out at me were "Just download the rom", and "Why waste money?", etc. Its just so typical and annoying.

I might be a console extremist myself too, or something. On a somewhat related topic, there's also been a few cases where I simply didn't enjoy a port of a game, to a handheld or something. Link to the Past comes to mind (being one of my all time favorite games), when I played through it on my GBA it just didn't have that great experience or anything that the SNES version gives me.

I could be weird, I don't know.

I'm fine with people who prefer the real thing more, but.. Like I said in my previous post, it is possible to set things up almost exactly like the real thing. (For all intents and purposes, it looks the same, plays the same, controls the same, and "should" sound the same..)

I realize not everyone can arrange such a setup, but.. yea, that's close enough that I don't really notice a difference anymore personally.
