I've been recently playing some older games again. Got a new copy of Wind Waker, one of my favorite games ever, and got Myst on my iPod touch. This kinda got me thinking...

What are some of your favorite older games?

I mean for this to not be REALLY old games, only a generation or two back if you're going by consoles, but you're free to name whatever you want.

I was aiming for games around N64 and later, but it's not like that matters. They still count haha

The only N64-and-up console game I have played for a longer timespan was Chrono Cross, and I didn't like it too much...

Warcraft III (PC) might count, though I don't like it that much either...

You forgot AoE2.

Actually ironically, lately AoE2 is the oldest game I played. Otherwise the games I play lately are all from 2003-2008. Well, ok a little bit of Commander Keen.... and I did play Earthbound a few weeks ago.

SMW (snes)

Everyone here likes this, right?

Banjo Kazzoie Series (n64)

Just totally blew me away - miles better than Mario64

One ~ To the Radiant Season (pc)

I love Japanese visual nolels (as long as there isn't too much sex). This has a fan traslation so thats cool.

Silver (pc)

RPG with nice visual style and fun to play, too.

Marc Ecko's Getting Up (pc)

One of the first games that made me think in true 3D

Lufia II (snes)

Love the mix of turn based battles and puzzle based gameplay

And if im gonna go waaaaay back

Manic Miner (amstrad cpc)

A classic platformer.

Tyrian (PC; can't get it to work with DOSBOX at the moment, which pisses me off)

Deus Ex (Too awesome not to mention)

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind (not that horribly old, but still up there)

System Shock 2 (The spiritual predecessor of Bioshock)

Goldeneye 007 (awesome doesn't even begin to describe it)

Perfect Dark (spiritual sequel to the above)

My favorites would have to be...

Earthbound (my first RPG I believe)
Super Mario Brothers 3
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Super Smash Bros (IMO, the best out of the three)
Goldeneye (N64) (my first FPS shooter I played)
Sonic 1,2, 3, & Knuckles, 3D Blast
Ristar
Plok! (for the SNES)
Punchout!!
Super Ninja Boy (For the Super NES, for those who've played Little Ninja Brothers for the NES, this game is the sequel.)
Super Mario RPG (who doesn't like this)
Paper Mario (N64) (better than 2 & 3)
The Simpsons Arcade
Battle Hunter (some say it's boring, but it's cool to me, and the music is great)
Legend of the Mystical Ninja (N64) & Goemon's Great Adventure
(GGA was the game that introduced me to Goemon and the gang)
Dig Dug
Mappy

I don't consider N64 old. I consider SNES and before old, though .

My favorite games like that... Hmmm...

All the Genesis Sonic games from the actual series
SMB3
Myst and Riven
Civilization 2

...Hell, I can't even think of them there's so many . I continue to play old gems today, because most of them are better than new games.
