Actually, the proper way to do things:
- Extract the old distributable - Extract the new Works great, even late. ____________________ I dealt with it. |

Laggy server is what's going on.
(I'd assume, anyway) ____________________ |

Well, there were lots of ships over large distances.
Ships have a slow pathfinder. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by AilureIs that OpenTTD was taking up 100% of my cpu cycles and being painfully laggy the one time that I tried connecting? |

Aren't they working on a new pathfinder for ships? I thought they were trying to find a faster one... ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Well, I dunno if it was actually lagging on my computer. I suspect it was clientside lag for most people, but still...
I probably restrict the amount of ships next game a bit more. Someone had over 80. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Who did?
I don't like ships because they're SLOW. I never want to have them travel over long distances. Too much of a minimum profit risk. Also, I was the proud owner of the superforest (>2000 tonnes of wood/month) this time. I was a little afraid to mention it since I thought someone would steal it. And that superfactory ruled! ____________________ |

The 80+ ships was me. I had Lotsa hovercrafts and oil tankers. Also, one cruise liner that held 500 passengers. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Hehehehehehehe...
HAHAHAHAHAHA! More bugs. Sub-arctic maps aren't placing Gold Mines and Paper Mills upon random creation. Obviously related to the recent industry work put into the game, but still, that's game breaking. It leaves out two entire industry buildings, which disrupts production lines. This is almost too funny... And for your viewing pleasure, my latest bug report. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

You can still fund them, right? If so, then you're not completely SOL here.
But yeah, if that's a bug, they should fix it. ____________________ |

I don't want to have to fund one when I want one, and funding raw material producers is EXPENSIVE.
It really IS a bug if they are supposed to be placed upon map creation, since they aren't. ____________________ My current complication: Girl's name who gets no more than 10 minutes of screen time in the actual game. |

Oh whoops, yeah, you can't fund raw industries in some games (namely our server), and THAT would be a huge problem. ____________________ |

Explains why there were so few gold mines in our current game. xD Well, guess that's a excuse to upgrade later tonight. A gold mine should pop up on it's own sooner or later after we upgraded. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Regarding the game that's currently going on...
You'll need the latest nightly, along with TTRS 3.02a, to play. It's in the Arctic climate with rather hilly terrain. Oh, and there are only 20 planes per player, MaxKnight. |

Posted by XkeeperNot as much as they used to be, really. :\ It comes down to "build a line, wait 24 hours, hope you stay afloat, build another line, wait 24 more hours, build another line..."Posted by Ninetales This is why I like playing toyland from 2000-2100. It can get silly sometimes, and with taking stuff cross-map with maglevs it's not as hard to stay afloat. |

This is why my games are usually the exact opposite of this It's a lot easier to just have fun... money doesn't matter so you hvae t ofind better ways to compete, like getting more cargo than everyone eles
The sad thing is that OpenTTD is slowly progressing towards this style of gameplay (more complex/difficult/harder to actually win) due to all the stuck-up morons working on it. The game does not need rebalanced -- obviously the formula worked if it got so many people into the game. ____________________ I dealt with it. |
