A Nice pack that has OpenTTD, the NeGRF's were gonna use on Ailure's server and a readme file containing instructions where to put everything would be nice. A very long sentence I know but ^ is what we need.

.................

Gee whiz, the "Download" link surely couldn't be that.

Also, Kirby Mario: Ailure has a stupid option that makes every train doubled in weight. Hence, "x2" to denote that it weighs twice as much.

I noticed when I was speculating that someone had this:

I was wondering, how do you get that.

That's the weight multiplier for freight (rhyme!). That is something that is set by the person running the server. More weight = trains have more trouble going uphill, pretty much.

As far as I know, weight dosen't affect turning. Current speed of train vs how 'steep' the curve is matters more. And train length is another factor as well.

It does, indirectly; more weight means slower recovery and accelleration in turns, which results in a much worse slowdown overall.

You usually need some quite heavy turns to slow down freight trains though.

Hmm, let me test something...

289 km/h?
152 km/h
131 km/h
88 km/h

For the most upper curve, max speed actually might be higher than 289 km/h, there were just no faster railway train.

And remember that the acceleration model is different with maglev trains. And trains will only slow down if they're 'bent' at two points so if a train is perfectly straight, even for only a game frame, it will not slow down. This is more of a limit in the acceleration model than a feature though. :p

Another server will be up on friday, most likely I start it at 20:00-21:00. Around that time. Probably earlier as I want to give myself a good start, as I might go for sleep after 00:00.

Planning on using tomorrow's nightly? There's a bug in the current one that causes Printing Works to be built on Temperate maps. I submitted a bug report, and it's already been fixed, so that shouldn't come up if we use the new nightly from tomorrow.

EDIT:This is what I was talking about! It's so much fun when this happens. They convert Steel into Goods. Fun times.

For all those interested, I made a tutorial on presignals on the wiki. http://acmlm.no-ip.org/wiki/Pre-signals

Because the OpenTTD wiki sucks.

And why? If anything is missing there you just have to add/change it.

Heh, it's possible to place all industries on same map with cheats too. I figure some of the industry related bugs is related to the fact that they're changing the way industries works internally to make it easier to implent newIndustries.

They already have a detailed explanation of pre-signals. Mine's just written in English, that's all.

Here's a link to the version currently in use by the AB server, in case you don't have it and/or can't find it.

So, NEWGRF ID 56430001, downloaded it by finding it with google, still says mismatch.
So, may I ask, halp?

See the download link in the upper-right corner of the board (in parenthesis, or here if you're lazy)? Copy the contents of the /data/ folder in there to the /data/ folder wherever you've got r9570 set up and make sure you replace any and all files it asks you to.

By the way, something (whether it be huge map size or cpu-intensive pathfinders) makes it impossible for me to play on the official server anymore because my cpu usage flatlines at 100% and makes the game unbearably laggy.
