We had a lot of fun, even Acmlm got in it at the end (mostly to blow stuff up )

(I was Light Labs. I think I'll use this for all games now, since it really sounds kind of awesome.)

HQ HQ! We built our own town, and amusingly it was enough to power a bus

And sometimes, we had really silly converstaions.

you don't beat light labs. you just don't.

Stuffing words into Ailure's mouth for fun and profit
or cramming a billion boats into a single dock somehow
blowing up other people's stuff is fun, especially when you can elaborately set them up for the fall <3

This looks fun, but I always seem to go bankrupt sometime after I make the third thing.

Two concepts to solve your problem:

1. Subsidies

2. Coal Trains

Coal trains equals instant profit. Then use your new source of cash to connect those cities and services that you need. Just try not to build too many roads, I've found those eat at your money faster than most other things (short of terraforming).

Blowing up stuff was fun, although I should probably try playing more seriously next time once I get better with things ... Xkeeper just had so much money and profit that I could waste it on things at will

My first attempt at building roads (before figuring out how it worked)
People sure love doing useless rides in the middle of nowhere
Xkeeper flooding a truck line
Train race
Train crash line

Hehe, I have a few screenshot.
Nyhamnsläge, in it's humble beginning before it grew...

Another early steel mill. Or Varg's steeeel mill as I called it later.
Hässleholm, one of the biggest towns on the whole map, with a rather busy airport.

And then one from the newest game I'm running:
It's fun to see what newbies build...

Yes...

He stole my thunder, he did. My HQ is northeast of that picture.

Also, this has been the best game I've played so far - I'm generally ranked behind Ailure and XK right now

I am interested in playing this unfortunately i have never played ttd in my life. But would it still be fine if i joined a game?
I will of course look at some tutorials first and get a basic idea but i would still probably have to ask a lot of questions in game....
Would i be to much of a bother?

Well, if you want to get a hang of the game, it would be great to try spectating a bit. It helps in seeing how things are built and such.

I still need to learn a lot, but I know enough to get started. :\

I'm considering using the latest nightly next game, only so we can run with this set.

Also, bridges can go over more stuff and aircraft goes about 4x faster. Or rather, a aircraft going at 500 km/h will be as fast as a train going 500 km/h. Infact, this makes Concorde really crazy fast now.

Random screenshot of what bridges can do now..

Server up soon, using Nightly r9401. Same newGRF settings as before, only with "Town Replacement Set Version 3" (link above). Just contact me if you require something...

Edit: Oh yeah, two fatal bugs that is known about.

Autoreplace anything that isn't trains causes a crash.

Demolishing a airport when a aircraft have it amongst it orders leads to a crash as well. Don't do this, as this crashes everyone.

It's also because whenever you join a company, you have a horrible tendancy to waste thousands of monies on bullshit and drive copmanies into the ground.

Ailure also says that you've been unbanned.

Once I get the hang of planes and ships, I'll probably join the server. Until then, I'll just keep stomping out the other companies.

[EDIT] Massive increase in train, vehicle, and net profits. No one stops The IRS.
[Another EDIT] A very, very huge increase in the same fields as before.
