Don't forget to set you clocks one hour ahead on Sunday because Daylights Savings Time starts early this year.
Personally, I only liked Daylight Savings Time when I was little because I got to stay outside and play longer. Nowadays, I don't really care for it anymore. I'm especially not fond of losing an hour of sleep. Good thing it starts in the beginning of my Spring Break because I can always make up that hour of sleep that I'm going to lose. |

I never understood Daylight Savings Time. It just never made sense to me
Oh well, for a while I get to be GMT-7, I guess. But an hour will mysteriously vanish again... ____________________ I dealt with it. |

Personally, I think DST wastes more energy than it saves.
...somehow. I could care less if they just got rid of it. |

Posted by fabio Only for US posters though. Other countries have different dates (or don't have DST at all in tropical regions). I never saw the point of DST. We should all adjust our clocks half an hour and never touch them again. Of course, as a little kid I had fun going around and changing all the clocks. I loved anything that involved pushing buttons for some reason...I would push random buttons on the remote control while my parents were watching TV, for instance. And then get yelled at. I still couldn't resist that remote though...all those buttons! The VCR remote was even better! |

Flurry #&postrank& Canada too, to avoid being a hour off during those 3 weeks ...
I like when we go back a hour, but the other way around isn't as fun ... although in my case, the lost/gained hour goes to my Saturday night instead of sleep ____________________ |

Yeah, I always called it an "extra hour of wake". And I also prefer gaining the hour over losing it. Not a big deal this year though as it's just one less hour of spring break, which is already a week. |

So I have to work Saturday night. 10:30 to 6:30, does this mean I'm only working 7 hours? |

Posted by Sinfjotle Sounds like it. I actually don't see how changing it earlier saves energy. I haven't seen an explanation for it; I only heard that it was happening. ____________________ |

It saves energy by allowing more natural light in to someone's house over the course of the day, making it so that you need to turn the lights on later at night.
...Why they don't have it all year round is beyond me though. |

Just when evenings were getting lighter. >> xD
I have no idea when we have our DST though. I should check, so it won't come as a surprise... Edit: We have our (Europe) DST in the last sunday of march. Keep this in mind, as the server is currently located in Germany and follows GMT+1 time. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by Xkeeper I've always been pretty desensitized to anything I hear on the news, even 09-11. I mean, I am opposed to terrorism and recognize the day as being one with a major loss of life, but it didn't shake me to the core or make me want to find meaning in life or anything like that. |

I think it's mostly because the media needs to overdramatize everything to get people to watch (Everyone loves a good scare!), it gets to the point where nothing really suprises you on the news anymore. Whoopee, someone died, who cares?
Mostly because they're always put in some dramatic light instead of being serious, since, you know. More viewers = more $. ____________________ I dealt with it. |

And that's why I can't stand watching propaganda channel.
Or as it's usually called. CNN. >> I like watching news, but things aren't as overdone on our TV channels news. Tabloids however... ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Posted by AilureOh, for the love of... It's the Communist News Network. Get it right! And I rarely watch the news either. I'm blissfully ignorant of the world around me, but I did like reading the New York Post's "murders" section, mostly because it listed exactly what happened with little emotion or dramatization, so it was interetsing to see what happened and easier to be a little upset (instead of gaping in awe at blue and red flashing lights)... ____________________ I dealt with it. |

I don't watch the news (or any TV). If a news event is important enough, I'll hear about it online, from my parents, from school, etc. If it isn't important (like J-Lo getting her 33rd husband or whatever), I probably don't care. |
