Who doesn't love Tetris?

I haven't played Tetris GB in quite some time. Only bad thing about it was the superslow rocket sequences (don't remember if they were even skippable ), other than that it was a great game. $3 is a great deal too as long as it works.

The controls were slow and unresponsive, but beyond that, it was fine

Works fine, can't wait to use it. I love Tetris DS of course, but it is its own version of Tetris because you can Hold pieces, See the next 5 or so, and lacks music switch and the original awesome themes.

This is what I call True Tetris, hence why I am so excited

EDIT: It also gives me a reason to drag around my Gameboy Advance SP

My first portable system was the Game Boy Advance, so I missed the original GB Tetris. We had the NES version though.

I had like...3 copies of that game and one I actually bought.

Considering it used to come with the console back in the day, three bucks is 'eh'.

I never got into classic Tetris really, although I adore Arika's Tetris The Grandmaster series.
This also might be the fact the randomizer is pure evil sometimes in the original version. If it gives you too much Z and O shaped blocks, it is pretty hard to find a way to stack properly unless you are an expert at higher levels. TGM just features so many improvements in gameplay ... the original challenge in GB Tetris at level 20 was not the speed, but control.
Ever tried to place a block on level 20 properly - since the next block immediately spawns after your current piece dropped (and locked instantly) ?
These advantages are in TGM, but on the other side the speed level is just insane later; after a certain point there are infinite falling rates, not to mention the Shirase Mode in TGM3, which might require far more than a few coins to master

For multiplayer there are better alternatives out there, like Super Tetris 3 and/or the Bombliss version.

I mean I'd never buy Tetris off of someone, but that because I got a million copies of the game in various parts of my house, but if I didn't own it then hell yeah I'd buy it for $3. That game ate up about a third of my childhood.

I only had the NES one, but played GameBoy Tetris a few times back then too (my friend had it) ... having it now wouldn't do me much good though, as I only have a Nintendo DS

Tengen Tetris was fun at the time too, at least it allowed 2 players

Tetris GB is better than the DX, music wise. I would call it a good buy.

I bought Tetris GB at a yard sale for $1. I'm still enjoying it to this day.

I lost my copy of Tetris for the GB a long time ago along with some other GB games.

I have yet to download the ROM but I'll probably will in the near future.

I had an opportunity to get Tetris (GB) for a very low price but opted for Tetris Worlds instead... definitely a bad decision there.

I just dug my old Tetris GB cart and GBC out to play it for old times' sake.

Got 267014. Don't think I'd ever made it to Lv. 15 before either, so new milestone for me

When I'm bored during math class, I pull out TI-83+ Tetris. Truly an awesome way to waste pass the time.

Hell, throw a text editor on there and you can get away with it in almost any class

Peh, my TI-83+ for $1 or the GBC+SMBDX for $5 beats your GB Tetris for $3 any day (Hell, I think I still have 3-5 GBCs laying around, hehe)

I'll try it myself now

210839 in A (90-something lines) and 11000-something for B (9-5)
Honestly, GB Tetris handles way, way too slow.

I keep forgetting to bring in 3 bucks.

I really want to play

Oh yea, today I played TDS for a whole block (1 hour 45 minutes) and got 819 lines and like 2 million points.

It was amazing.
