I was thinking about building a pc using and xbox 360 case as the pc case. Of course the power supply wouldn't fit inside of it with everything else, so it would have to be external, like the real 360 power supply. The only problem I can think of would be space constraints, mainly vertically with the addition of a dedicated GPU. Are there PCI extension cords so I could mount the GPU horizontally on the motherboard instead of it sitting up vertically? I would also need mounts for the DVD Drive and Hard Drive to sit over the Motherboard. Just wondering if it would be feasible and practical to try to do this.

I think it would be an interesting project but i'm one of those people who full under the school of thought that you should get a Full ATX tower just so its always easier to do maintance. I know some friends with micro ATX cube towers and they always have to remove 3-4 parts that are fine just to get down to the part they need to do maintance too.

well my computer now isn't too bad, I've been slowly upgrading it, and is a mid tower. While I haven't actually measured anything, from the looks of it, the motherboard & ram looks like it will fit, and I could mount the DVD Drive on top of that where the DVD Drive goes on the real 360, and put the SATA HDD where the HDD goes in the real 360 also, just wire it all together and what not. I'm not sure how the power supply would work yet though.... And the GPU definitely wouldn't fit vertically.... I'm about to upgrade it more though (new mobo, quad core CPU, 4GB ram, new power supply, maybe another 3850 in crossfire), after which even if it DOES fit, it will probably overheat and red ring

I think I've read or heard about having a case like this and it isn't recommended. It'll most likely overheat.
