After finally sifting through SMW's Graphics folder and finding all the text graphics and stuff, I decided to change it and make my own font, and then proceeded to fix up the status bar and make it's colors the last 3 of palette 0 (actually palette 4 since the tiles are 8bpp, but anyways...) But the timer tiles aren't the right palette... and there's a number sitting beside the item box that isn't there in SMWSBE....
Any help on fixing these issues? ____________________ |

Yea, I just changed the static 0 tiles, and I think that extra 0 is a bonus star counter. Does anybody know where the counter dma's from so I can change the palette bits in the counter tiles? I was thinking maybe it does a inc loop for the counter, just changing the tile location, not the control bits (as in H/V flip, palettes, and priority), in which case just putting all zeroes in all the spaces for the counter (with the right palette) might fix it. ____________________ |

Problem solved.... almost...
Is there a way to remove the small bonus star counter and the tiles for it? I currently can't place tiles in the 16x16 square directly to the left of the item box, (the 'S' in 'Coins' doesn't show up, even though I placed it there in the Status Bar Editor) and that 8x8 0 is still there. ____________________ |

That 0 appears to be in where the secondary small star counter is. None of the tools remove it, and I think you'd need to write a ASM hack to make it begone. |

Hieda is right. That's one of the 'unalterable' counters with SMWSBE, though normally it's obscured by the larger-sized counter. |

There's a ROM address that disables it, it's on the ROM address on SMWC. I went to look for it, and the sites under maintenance or something. Some luck, i was just on it 5 minutes ago.
EDIT: Try this: 01253 $00:9053 Unknown Layer 3 Change to EAEAEA to get rid of the small bonus stars. Use in conjunction with address x01268 01268 $00:9068 Unknown Layer 3 Change to EAEAEA to get rid of the small bonus stars.
