FFFFFFFFFFFF-

The motherboard needs replacement. When plugged in, Windows tells me my laptop is "plugged in, not charging". The laptop draws power from the adapter and not the battery. Long story short, I need to send it in for replacement and I had to endure a long talk with robotic tech support agents over Dell's online chat.

I'll post the log if anyone wants it. Apparently, I will be deprived of my laptop for over a week. Luckily, they want me to take out the HDD so I won't be another victim of those horror stories where tech support fixes a minor problem but replaces the HDD as well for some reason.

Luckily, the problem will be resolved. I have a limited warranty until December 21, 2011.

My father will kill me for this.

My IBM laptop does the same thing, but I never use it portably anyway, so it's not a problem.

Are you sure it's not a problem with the adapter? I have this cool thing where I have two adapters and one does this and the other doesn't, because one of the adapters is slightly broken.

Um .... why would your father kill you over this? It's not like you broke the battery yourself.

Generic Asians get mad over everything.

Oh, and be warned, they're always raging on the road.

I tested another adapter that I have, and the problem's still there.
