It'd be funny if the hoax was in fact, on HIM!
The cartridge being a total fake, regardless he clearly thinks its real. Now that'd be hilarious. |

Maybe he'll start claiming that Nintendo put copy protection in the rom. Like Earthbound Zero. |

I still believe that this is a hoax. No Zelda III was ever planned for the NES, AFAIK. |

Hmmm. well I e-mailed Okibi a couple more times since, in the last email I wrote:
"So... is there more to this riddle that I didn't get, or is this the "Grand Prize"?? What is it exactly This just appears to be a corrupt Zelda 1 ROM..." And he replied: "Yes, there is more to the contest then the one question. The rom that you have is a hint, not the prize. You must figure out what to do next. -okibi" That's the most I got out of him, but I don't know what to believe anymore. |

"A hint"? How on earth is a jumbled up Zelda 1 rom with data from the Zelda 3 joke homebrew a hint towards anything?
You'd think if this guy actually had this rom, he'd release it and clear his tainted image instead of hosting some bullshit contest that makes no sense. Bleh. |

No, that other joke rom. The one with a title screen that says "This is a fake" when you push a button.
Was mentioned a page ago. |

Posted by Adamant Yeah, if he were to simply put "the rom" up for download on his site, he'd probably be getting twice the amount of traffic compared to this bullshit junk. |

It's all bullshit. For the longest time, I was defensive of the possibility of it being real, and I was immediately branded "Okibi's boyfriend" by a couple of the posters. He has a thread on his forum about this bogus contest, to which I posted the truth about the ROM he posted, including the password. This was on Friday morning - being early Wednesday morning now, it's safe to say that either he doesn't give a shit or his forums are so dead that he rarely goes there himself. |

Interesting thing about this contest...there's more parts to it. 6 parts total. How do I know? Garret gives a hint to LocalH's last post on the site.. http://www.ratedo.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=218
He indicates a site that's full of BS...which is actually referring to BS Zelda. On their forums, there's an extra hint to this contest, and mention of 6 parts. If it weren't for that hint I would never have been able to get any further. Anyway, this should help everyone get past this roadblock of a clue..sort of gets you thinking though doesn't it? Of COURSE it would be disappointing if the ROM wasn't real after completing the puzzle...more in the sense of it being a waste of talent. I'll enjoy the puzzle for what it is though. |

For all interested, part 2 is here.
Does it make any more sense? No. ____________________ I dealt with it. |

Wait, so the clue was to discover that the rom was fake, and then enter "itsafake.php" in the adress bar? Dear god, this contest is retarded.
As for the current questions, Wikipedia says "The shape of the Triforce is based on the mon symbol of the Japanese Hōjō clan, which is said to represent the three scales of a Shinto dragon", which gives us approximately 3 million different ways of expressing this in the address bar. There by looking carefully at the triforce image on his site, you can see the number 3 in each triangle, which doesn't help a thing. Yay. And I honestly don't give a shit whether that okibi tard approves of me giving out answers to his stupid contest here or not. |

Personally I think someone needs to crack their ftp so we can browse through the website. It'd save a lot of trouble anyways.
So here you go. If you do find anything interesting, let us know. ftp://www.ratedo.com/ ____________________ What FF7: Advent Children Character Are You? |

Flurry #&postrank& A directory listing would really be nice at this point, instead of having to guess the exact wording for each answer
And yeah, even knowing exactly what the garbage ROM was, I'd never have guessed I was supposed to enter the answer like that in the URL ... I know it's not supposed to be easy, but leaving us all clueless on what to do isn't really good either ____________________ |

Yeah, I saw that hint on the BS Zelda forums too. Anyway, I took a page that talked about the shinto and the triforce (http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/board/message?board.id=zelda&message.id=1550994) and rephrased it, and this is the reply I got from Okibi:
Wow! That sure was a nice read. No matter how many times I read it, it's still good. Everyone even seems to give me a different version as well! Anyways, did you find what's "hidden" in the symbol? You need to link (no pun intended) that to the story you gave me and apply it to the zelda series to get the next hint. -okibi -------------------------- So this may lead to another webpage of his. I just posted the story thus far at the Zelda Universe forums, so maybe people there can come up with additional info. |

Wanna know the real trick? Someone should just download all of the project zero section of his website (like all of the pages in the "projectzero/" directory). I might do it in a little bit. |

I'd try it if I knew how. But may be a good way to approach this. But remember, he said somewhere that there is no download link. He will send the winner the ROM directly. But that could get us most of the way! |

I recommend ftp access. You can hide pages there that aren't accessible any other way. I tried downloading just from the projectzero directory and it refused. ____________________ What FF7: Advent Children Character Are You? |

Hmmm... Well I don't know the first thing about that, but I think that's the way that this needs to be approached. |
