Exactly. He sent me the rom and A game so that I wouldn't suspect anything, I suppose. It is the correct rom, though, so he did actually dump it. He just stole the board our of the cart. At least, I can assume he did. The D&D deal can't possibly be a coincidence.

The top three choices for the prize are NES Games/System, Cash, and obviously the zelda 3 proto rom.

You will pretty much play games against each other to see who's the best.

The Championship will officially start on May 18. The details of how the Championship will work have been posted on the site at http://championship.ratedo.com as well as the current 11 players. We are looking for at least 9 more. We'll accept over 20 players if more than that want to play.

I second that, or atleast a general idea, there are some classics I've just never played, and some that people'd shoot me if they knew I had never played(Like SFII, I have never even seen the title screen of it), and also perhaps the time? I have finals coming up in June, and before then, school could interfere, just a general idea would be nice, before I decide if I want to , or even can, participate.

Well, to give you a general idea, I was thinking about the following:

Dr. Mario (NES)
Mortal Kombat (Genesis)
Contra (NES)
Super Mario Kart (SNES)

Those will be the main round games, with suggestions taken for qualification matches.

What about time? Unless I'm completely blind and missed it, there's no indication of when people must be signed up by, or when the games will take place. I'd like to participate, but depending on the days and times it takes place, I might not be able to. And I've never played Mortal Kombat either, I'd better go rectify that if I'm to participate.
EDIT: Guess what? I'm completely blind, and I missed it. Who saw that one coming? XD So the games start Friday, huh? Depending on when the actual matches are, I may or may not be able to participate, so still, some more clarification.

Here is how the matches will work. I will list the current match ups on the Championship page (http://championship.ratedo.com/tournament.html). I will also notify you that you have a match ready, which is why I'd like everyone to email me their nickname if possible, or I can post it here.

You need to complete your matches whenever you and your opponent can agree to. You'll need to let me know when is the soonest you can participate, or I can let you email your opponent, your choice.

Last day for entries is Thursday.
