Posted by okibi As for me, I actually enjoyed the contest - although some of it seemed a tad too vague, leaving multiple answers and you only looking for one - but after the contest was over, at least for me, it would've been nice to know that it actually existed. Sure, suspence is fun (to a point), but I think many of us don't want to "waste" our time if it doesn't exist; no offense, but simply saying something like "I have the proto Zelda 3 ROM" isn't real convincing (I tried to show this with my mock-up of your contest with Mario earlier in this thread). Kario points out that most of us likely hadn't "wasted" any of our time due to assuming we'd spend it on surfing the 'net. For some of us, that may be the case, but at least for me (and I'd assume Drag due to his amount of participation) we did it in times that we wouldn't "surf"; at least for me, I took time out of my day instead of doing other things, not "surfing". Anyways, I'll likely end up playing the next contest, if there is one with the proto again... |

Listen. You're all wrong. People ARE definitely being jerks to Okibi, hell I even did it a couple of times. So he has every right to be upset. I mean it's really childish. It's like he has your "boom boom" and he won't give it to you, so you're throwing a tantrum. Okibi is ALSO acting rather childish. Okibi, you need to understand, when you claim to have something like what you're claiming to have you HAVE to pony up some proof, or else you're just letting the jerk flood gates open. Pretty much it's like you got the new and improved "boom boom v2.0" that's illegal in 32 states, and you won't share it with anyone. I mean you have to expect some people to get a little upset. Anyhoo, those are my two cents. |

I understand it is rather rude of me not to share as it wouldn't actually hurt anything, but that's simply not the point. I don't HAVE to, and no one has given me a reason to do so... Dragon Master: Actually, the ones asking for proof, actually. Remember back when the other one was on ebay, I was bidding on it and was asked if such as game exists, I said yes, they said prove it, and from there came my article. I never intended to prove it or show it to anyone... I was just curious about there being another copy, which turned out to really be a hoax though. I guess there is only one. |

Not being allowed to drive someone elses vehicle which is known to exist is different than going around bragging you have a Ferrari, but not letting anyone see it. "Oya, it's in the shop, but I won't get it out till you are nice to me."
Edit: I'm not actually asking for his "boom boom". Just proof of it, since this thread is his big advertisement for his site. I don't even care much about playing it, but that is probably the only way I, and many would ever be convinced of it's existance. |

Ok, taking a huge recap on what happened here...
Z3 prototype discovered. There's an article on it. However, there have been many z3 prototypes that were hoaxes. So of course a lot of people will be... less than willing to believe that "this time" is the real thing. So there's this contest where the prize is the rom. We download the fake rom, because we think it's actually the rom, instead of just a hint. It's fake, oh no, so yeah, we declare it as a hoax. Then later, we find out about step 2, so that wasn't the prize. So maybe the rom is real? We won't know unless we try to win, so that's what a few of us do. Granted, there are still a lot of users who don't believe it. So we get to the end, the end is really difficult. Nobody wins the contest. So what happens? Everyone left and right declares the rom as a hoax, and starts attacking Okibi. There's really no point in arguing this because I doubt anyone will change their minds, but losing the contest didn't prove the rom was a fake. What MIGHT prove the rom as a fake is if we WON the contest, and the winner never received the rom. But that didn't happen. We just flat out didn't win, and thus, nobody got the rom. Nothing was proved. But yes, it's annoying how so many people are just so bent on arguing that he's a liar, it's a hoax, etc, when in reality, there's no proof to back it up. Hell, even if he did post some screenshots, a lot of people would still call them fake. Also, there's a huge flaw with how we've been handling this. We've been *expecting* proof out of him, but has anyone actually ASKED him for an ingame screenshot or something? ____________________  |

Even if he did provide proof, people would just go "its a shop lol".
We all know that providing proof of a ROM is not possible. So we will never know if it is true, unless someone acquires it. |

Posted by Drag I think the major critic of the first Zelda 3 NES proto was Okibi. So that has nothing to do with anything. I only recall the two protos being said to exist. I think people are attacking Okibi because he wants everyone to come to his site and see the contest to win the rom that he is mysteriosly unable to give away or sell. I think you are pretty nieve to keep hoping upon hope that your gonna see this ROM. He clearly stated he has no intentions of releasing it, unless the world goes noob and believes him at his word and befriends him. Okibi knows well that people want proof in the form a screenshot, and such. He even had a voting contest on what they want to see, a title screen, or gameplay screenshot. Gameplay won but he posted the title screen anyway. |

I already have those games, so I went with Batman and Street Fighter 2010.
Also, how many people from here entered in that contest? I was a bit surprised when I actually won. I did jump on it as soon as possible, which was a day after the contest started, so I had about 5 entries into it. Yeah, I entered. Sorry I've been out of the loop. My computer got a virus from "NDS-ROMS .com". Yeah, DON"T GO THERE!!! Anyway, sucks no one got it, but I still have some faith. And Okibi, sorry you're getting flamed here, but realize that we're not all in on it together so don't take the comments too personally, I know you don't. |

okibi: If you want to avoid jail time, you MUST provide the ROM as proof that you are telling the truth. If you do not, you WILL be arrested. I will give you ONE chance to provide the ROM and show that you are not lying to everyone. |
