Wait, I thought the prize was a ROM? What's this about it being shipped? I'm pretty sure he said that he dumped the rom before he sent the cartridge away, to give away later. So I don't see why it would need to be shipped. It should be e-mailed, or something like that, not shipped. |

Posted by iamstillhiro1112The contest GZila won isn't the same one that took up the majority of this thread. That's my understanding, anyway. ____________________ |

The ROM was the prize of the March 2007 contest. GZila won the April 2007 contest. |

I never asked for one. I never cared either way -- I know it proves nothing. ____________________ I dealt with it. |

I am the one who requested it. Now, I need to know if it is legit or not. |

Posted by Murray Oh come on now, really. The only sure way of you being able to verify that is if you knew Supergun, knew his mailing address, and verified it with the delivered address (its not displayed, but you can verify with FedEx as delivered to Winter Park, FL) The auctioning of the cart ended July 06, 06, and the package was mailed on the 10th. Give time for making arrangements and payment, and this checks out. The weight of the package is 0.45lbs, which fits something small as a NES cart. an NES cart weight a little over 2 oz, throw in some packing material and the 8X8X8 box (not sure..might be 8X8X3..letters are blurry) and it adds up evenly. Weight, check. The item was delivered via Fedex Priority overnight, which you can see by the checkmark on the right side in the upper center. The service costs which seems to be $40, which would be kind of expensive for a hoax. Something this valuable wouldn't be sent via a much cheaper service. So this checks out. Looking at the receipt, you can see its mailed from Knoxville, TN. So obviously he wasn't sending it to himself. Addresses check out. So, using all this information you can infer that this was the mailing slip for the proto ROM. The only thing that could be argued is that the item's value was undeclared. But considering the value, either Okibi or Supergun probably didn't want to be hit by a even higher insurance rate. Of course you can't know for sure what the contents were, but what are you expecting him to do? Take pictures while he's sealing up the box? Then you'd probably be arguing whether or not he tampered with the box afterwards. Edit: For the people that are interested, I started working on my own contest...although not finished yet, I posted a midi quiz in the meantime for people to have fun with. You can view it at this thread. |

So we know he sent something small on July 10th 2006 using overnight shipping and an overpriced service from Knoxville. There are millions of small things. Try again.
Why are we even bickering about whether he mailed the cart to someone? The important question is whether the ROM is real, and it wouldn't be very hard to prove it is. |

Yeah, I was wondering why the cart even mattered in the first place. The only thing is that whenever Okibi's credibility comes up, everyone falls back to the "he didn't send Supergun the cart" speculation, which is just pure rumor, and there is absolutely ZERO proof backing it up.
The only way we can tell if the rom is real or not is by winning the next contest he offers the rom to. ____________________ |

Okibi's suspicious behavior is enough to convince MOST people that the beta isn't real. I think the burden of proof lies on his shoulders, not ours. |

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason to treat any person like this?
http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7050&page=11 As I stated there, I will not be posting on their forums, which means there is no chance of them gaining any info or screenshots, let alone the rom during a future contest. And for everyone's info, I've always intended to give out everything once people started being nice.... and I now see that it simply can't happen. Most people won't even try to take the benefit of the doubt and try to be nice. If everyone really wanted proof, why not show it by doing that one simple thing? It's good to know kindness is too much to ask these days... *waits for the "because you're a liar" posts that are bound to happen anyways, proving me right* |

I started off just watching this thread. I never really knew if the thing was real, and it didn't matter to me either way. It was fun watching the puzzle unfold. I kept hoping someone would figure it out, since I knew I couldn't, but it didn't happen. Then, because no one won, people accuse him of lying. What the hell is the point? If he was lying and he admitted it, nothing would change. There would probably still be people complaining. If it's real and you accuse him of lying, then you seeing the beta are pretty low. Why not just leave it to chance? You didn't put money into this, you didn't really lose any time either. If anything, you used time that could have been used to play a video game or surf the internet anyway. |

People being "nice" to you Okibi will only happen in any way if you could convince anyone that said game exists. Definately not before. Forcing that to happen would be like forcing you to give up info on the game.
As for people giving you benefit of doubt. I think you had some of that to start with, but it gradually dwindled in many of your supporters. I held out for a bit when I first heard about all this. |

Well I guess we are stuck in a vicious cycle. I won't give people anything until they are nice and they won't be nice until I give them something.
Who wins? Nobody. Somethings got to give... |
