Since when did we need evidence to prove if the Zelda 3 proto is real or not? Okibi doesn't need any.

You're accusing him of not giving Supergun a cart, and you're making these accusations based on nothing at all. This is HARDLY the same thing.

But I heard that Supergun never got the CARTRIDGE in the first place!

I wouldn't trust what okibi said if I were you. There's no way it could be 70% complete like he said.
Development did indeed start on Famicom(there's an article on it somewhere at TheHylia), but it was quickly moved to the Super Famicom.
http://www.thehylia.com/community_10_21_05_1909.shtml
It certaintly wasn't still being worked on in 1990.

Furthermore, here is a Famicom site showing what Famicom cartridges look like, among other things.
http://www.vidgame.net/NINTENDO/FAMICOM.htm

Yet okibi claims to have the proto on a NES cartridge!

Check page 25, or read this quote. Don't expect me to take Okibi's word on if the box was ever delivered as his word isn't credible enough for me to take his word without question.

Umm... tons of NES/FC prototypes were put on NES carts. Just because a prototype isn't in the Japanese style cart doesn't mean it's automatically fake. For example, look at the MAJORITY of the games in this list.

As for Murray's quote, he "heard" that Supergun didn't get the cart. "Heard" isn't proof of anything. It's only speculation/rumors/more assumptions. There is still NO PROOF that Supergun never received the cartridge that Okibi says he sent him.

Me either. Anyway, it seems that okibi is a scam artist. You see, he never gave the cartridge(if it ever existed)to Supergun, even though Supergun paid almost $1400 for it!

There's a huge logical fallacy here at play...

Everyone who has tried to state this accusation have done nothing but quote other people who said the same thing, but nobody anywhere has any proof. So everyone is using statements that have no proof as proof. The only thing in that thread that I could find was the guy who said "oh, Okibi ripped off one of my friends", but there is still no proof anywhere.

Well, I can absolutely prove that Okibi hasn't released a ROM. And that he teases people with the thought that it exists. And that that tease brings people to a rather bland website, his website. I encourage you to join Assembler forums and set them straight tho. Since it seems to be your goal to keep the hopes of the Zelda 3 betas actual existance alive.

My main intention here was to help stop people from harassing Okibi over false information. I obviously won't be able to stop everyone, so I don't really worry that much. Besides, arguing over the internet doesn't really do anything. I just don't want him to get the wrong idea about us, that's all. If we're actually *nice* to him when everyone else is being aggressive, he might remember it.

I have no problem with okibi, I'm just annoyed (as I'm sure many are) that he won't provide any proof of the existence of his Z3Proto and that he makes up impossible to win contests.

The guy isn't going to give you anything with all the negative stuff some of you are saying. I don't know if it exists or not, but I'm not gonna burn any bridges here. I'm ready to try the next contest.
He hasn't done anything to earn any respect nor trust.

As far as most people are concerned, he's a liar.
And I'm concerned about this how? I don't need to respect or trust okibi. Either play along with what you think or don't say anything at all. I've got my skepticisms, but I could give a shit less. ROCK ON OKIBI!!!!

We were pretty close to win actually ... sure we've been clueless a lot and needed hints for each step, but we were getting there (and step 6 was confirmed to be the last long before anyone got it), maybe another week would have been enough

Sure it might all be fake and things are a bit suspicious (why would someone ever take $20 over a new prototype ROM, wouldn't the game be in Japanese too even if it does happen to be on a American NES cartridge, and it's been talked about for a year and half now), and I wasn't seriously expecting to see the ROM anytime soon ... but the contest still had its interesting parts and made us work together in the hope it was real

Speaking of which, GZila just won the next contest (which ended yesterday)

Hello all, unknown to many, I have come across the NES cartridge of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. I'm beginning a contest and the person who wins it will get the ROM image that I obtained from the cartridge. All you have to do is answer one question:

What is Yoshi's Island?

In 'world 01' of Super Mario World it was called Yoshi's Island, but does the release of Super Mario World 2 contradict that? Is the whole Mario Universe a dream and all the games are simply one's perception of the Mario Universe?
I already did this.

Yeah, someone should do that.

Oh, and okibi does NOT rock.
Also, I am just about ready to call the cops on him, as he not shown us the FedEx slip as requested. If he does not want to get arrested, I strongly suggest he show it to us, to prove he didn't scam Supergun.

/me laughs at Murray. Calling the cops for something done on the internet that you have no proof of. You're real smart genius. And what do you do when they put you in prison instead for false charges?

I already have those games, so I went with Batman and Street Fighter 2010.

Also, how many people from here entered in that contest? I was a bit surprised when I actually won. I did jump on it as soon as possible, which was a day after the contest started, so I had about 5 entries into it.

Also, for those of you who want the FedEx slip to show I shipped the Zelda III NES Proto...
