Wait a minute. If all we need to do is figure out where the Triforce was located in OoT....

I remember that it was said that the question mentioned rumors around the internet about how to get it. The most infamous one? That odd screenshot of Link opening a chest and getting it.... Which, if I remember correctly, was supposedly in a beta version of a 3-D remake of Level-1 from TLoZ! Could this be the answer? In the Beta Dungeon?

Ok, I'm trying your answer, Phoenix Yoshi.

I still don't know if we're on the right track however...

Oh for Christ's sake...
I just realized.
Why is he having one person win it, so that they can just distribute it? He knows thats what is going to happen, so why not just give it out?

Stop being so silly about this, and don't make us wait any longer, it's stupid.

I don't know how to really relates to the riddle, but I believe there is a Youtube video that shows how to get the triforce underneath Zelda's castle (in OoT).

The triforce that you see in that video is actually the one on Link's hand. since the floor forces the camera closer to link you can see under his gauntlet.

Generally I've heard that was the Sky Temple, and there still is "Sky Medallion" text or similar in the game. Your idea makes more sense though.

I agree with XKeeper. Everyone was sharing answers, but now things are different. Most the emails I get aren't being discussed here, which makes me wonder if everyone decided to be greedy. If that's the case, no more hints will be given to everyone who emails me from here.
To be honest, I am quite guilty of this myself. Although my method is simply to withhold my ideas until I am sure there is some merit to them. After all, there is no point in me posting useless theories that hold no water (or are clearly wrong).

If I actually had a useful idea, I would post it here. (But as you can guess I am always wrong...)

I do not think we are on the correct track. In fact, I am thinking we have it all wrong. But that is still just me.

Well, if all the theories you posted were wrong, why not post the ones you havent posted?

Hmm... there was a sky temple in TP... (which I am stuck on...) but it doesnt seem relevant. Nor does the sky temple/palace/dungeon in Minish Cap. Neither of them involve five steps... but their treasures have a bit to do with air travel. Double ClawShots and Roc's Cape/Mantle. Together they would be awesome...
Anyway, Deku Leaves helped Link in Wind Waker, letting him float... as did the Tingle Baloon, gotten with the Tingle Tuner, along with the Tingle Bombs, Tingle Potions(?), and that other tuner that let you buy bombs and arrows... also, there was a Grappling Hook in addition to the HookShot. And of course, the Ocarina, or some other instrument. LttP used it to summon a bird that took you places, OOT used it for multiple purposes, like changing the time, weather, and more. TWW had a Wind Waker, that was similar to the Ocarina in terms of capabilities. TP has howling, that you either only do a few times, or do the same thing when you do it. It also has grasses, and whistles, but those are mostly irrelevant. The games I missed I havent played, sorry. Also, what about the Arwing in OOT? That flew through the sky... but seems irrelevant. Wow, this post is getting really long. *poof*

And it's wrong, kinda like I was thinking.

Is a Z3 proto really worth all of this? Once we get this rom, we're going to play it, and then we'll get bored with it. Then what? Will we be going "Damn, I can't believe we had to do a contest to get this!"?

However, I'm still interested in the proto, which is probably the only reason I'm still doing this.

What question are we supposed to be answering? I don't think it's the triforce rumors, because "Zelda freak" doesn't really apply to it. Ugh... this is too vague.

We're supposed to be answering something about "5 steps, 5 hints" I think, or "Zelda freak knows more than he tells" And yes, it's very confusing...

Five steps, apparently in Phantom Hourglass, there's one large dungeon, and you have to go through smaller dungeons to get through the big one. Might have something to do with "Five steps, five hints"

What Step are you on? Wrong. You are on Step 4.

Notice he capitalizes Step as if it were a proper noun.

But that actually makes sense, as it's more of a title.

To be honest, I don't think we're going to win. I'm getting kinda tired about thinking about this last step. I don't have enough info to conclude to anything at all. Okibi just made it too hard for me. I can't continue. On top of everything, I've been sick with the stomach flu for the past week. I guess we'll just have to be content with not having this rom.

As for the rom itself, I don't know if he has it or not, but I really wish he'd post more evidence of it. I don't know if he's lying or not, but I'm not really in a position to judge. All I can do is just hope that someone else gets the rom and shares it, because it probably won't be me, unless someone can come up with the correct answer sometime before this coming wednesday.

But I seriously cannot come to any conclusions, and Okibi said he wasn't giving us hints anymore. I'm pretty much ready to give up on this whole thing and forget it ever happened.

If I haven't already been throwing out "random" ideas, here is one to take the cake: If I recall, the main question is, "Where is the triforce located?" If you take that into accordance with the latest hint ("What Step are you on? Wrong. You are on Step 4.") - link to step 4 - you might notice the triforces on Zelda. Perhaps he is talking about she is the source of the triforce. Although they aren't literally the triforce, but symbolic, perhaps this is what he is talking about? Look at:

1) Shield
2) Dress (below belt)
3) Here is where it goes a bit weird. Maybe the necklance or golden clasp mean something (they both are 3)?

Another thing I've been trying to do is see if any of the hylian symbols (like on the shield or Zelda's dress) have anything to do with this riddle at all, but so far I've come up with nothing...

Last time I emailed Okibi. This is what he said:

Let's see... I've ran the site for almost 8 years now. I'm still running
contests and a decent store. I'm not going to get tired of it anytime
soon.

Like I said from the very beginning of all of this (October 2005), I'm
not out to take advantage of anyone or even to draw more traffic to
Rated O. I'm simply offering what I want and giving to those who are
deserving. If someone wants the rom bad enough to play through the
entire contest (meaning solve it), then they will get the rom. If the
end date comes up and no one has won the rom, like I said before, it
will become the prize of another contest.

Besides, I think you'll solve it once you stop thinking so hard about
it.

-okibi

You should try emailing that idea to him.

I would, but #3 isn't really finalized... Any ideas? Also, does he care who e-mails him? Because if I e-mail him it will be my first time and I don't know if he requires you to do the steps via e-mail or by simply participating via a message board.

Anyone can email him, it doesn't matter.

What about me? He said I'm on Step 2. So umm... the Triforce was inside the rom, I guess.

I don't really think that's the answer though.
