sorry, what do you mean by screen transitions

In melee, there wasn't enough effects like fading in and out made the transition from stages to stages well enough. Like they just stopped on a razor and started very similar. Sure there was ready start and stuff.

Kinda hard to explain. : /

Excessive screen transitions is why I hate playing pokemon so much.

Eh, I kinda liked some of the transitions in pokemon, but for a game like SSB, transitions are silly, and not needed. Honestly, screen transitions are nice, and sorta fitting for RPGs and the like, but for Brawl, I just want to fight. READY GO! is enough for me.

Gliding!

Looks to be a variant of Peach's floaty-jump, but with a different control scheme.

I'd hope it lasts longer, as well. Peach's floating ability only lasted so long.

Nintendo's new air force?

It's alright. You two do not understand what I am trying to say and I cannot find a way to express it in words.

A screen transition that's a quick fade would be nice. Sometimes dark. FLASH light hurts people's eyes.

SSBM goes and jumps from screen to screen if you pay attention. There's no transition effect in the game, except when Togepi makes the screen go black.

Oh JOY. Just what we needed, more horizontal recoverers.

Thank you for explaining it in a better manner. I was not talking about a transition like pokemon that takes 10 seconds of waiting (though I bet we will see more movies in this game).

What's wrong with that? Most characters have crappy horizontal recovery, anyway...

Today... Wario Ware!

Looks to be an awesome level. Although, I do have to wonder what "reward" will be for winning the challenges.

One of Ike's air A-button attacks is visible in that screenshot. Looks much like one of Marth/Roy's, somewhat unsurprisingly.

I hate stages where you spend more time fighting the stage than you do your enemies...

its a glide, it will last until you hit the ground or go off the stage, the only thing is that you are consistantly falling down, you can pull up, but if you pull up too much then you'll stall.

I'm actually phsyched about this, and I don't think it's a bad thing to have characters do this because it is a lot of their personality, and it adds more to the dynamic of the game. I want to try it myself and see how hard it is.

Wario Ware looks... interesting, I'm sure it'll be a fun stage to change things up every once in awhile when you get bored, but yeah, I'm more into stages that are big and stationary.

Not taking damage, perhaps? As you can tell, each one does SOMETHING to the player. The rain one probably adds consecutive damage when standing in it, the arrows are obvious, and the last one you have to jump in time. Although I am guessing there is more to the stage than just those 3 minigames so it will surely be interesting to say the least.

Actually, now that I look at it... the rain one has some little aura around Mario and Kirby, but not Peach (who's not getting wet) or Wario (who is). Mario's is the largest; perhaps it'll be a speed penalty the longer you're in the rain?

I'll agree that the arrow one will almost certainly be damage for the losers.

Somehow the "Jump!" one makes me suspect that whoever's on the ground when the hammer hits will get stunned, similar to Donkey Kong's B+Forward (if they're mean) or Mewtwo's B+Down/Jigglypuff's B+Up (if they're nicer to the players).

EDIT: Pit's Descent. Video from the Subspace Emissary mode.

Pit's Descent on Youtube, just case anybody can't see it

Well, it reminds me of Link.
I think it's about how he doesn't speak in that movie...

At any rate, I'm sure that video just made him more popular. It worked with me.

Diddy Kong's special moves!

Looks like a copy of Link's arrows (+ self-damage from Roy's B-button attack) and a vaguely-similar-to-Fox/Falco's-B-up-move with a few quirks.

Looks like Samus's A+forward in air move doesn't have fire any more, but instead beam-shot appearances.

Recovery moves that require charging strike me as unfortunate, unless he loses much of his downward velocity when he initiates the move.

Heh, Diddy Kong's moves are straight out from DK64. Rather surprised seeing Nintendo basing his moves from that game too.

Wasn't that the very last game he appeared in that was still made in part by Nintendo?
