...now you can also just hold down the attack button to automatically do consecutive standard attacks.

That might get on my nerves. I'll get used to it but unexperienced players who only use the a button over and over like my cousin will get a kick out of it... consecutively. Nothing big, it's just me being picky.

Bleh, I hope there's an option to turn it off, what if I press buttons down for a second too long and do two attacks instead of one? Hell, that happened to me in TP, I'd swing the remote so hard Link would attack twice, completely screwed me up.

Like your sig isn't annoying.
Mine isn't nearly as tall as his.
Hold down A instead of tapping it? That's good, but it's also bad. Maybe if they have an option to toggle this?

Talk about random....

I'm beginning to like the odds of Ken Griffey being in it.

That's a brilliant thing for this game. Definitely maintains the "wacky" style, even if other things try to go more towards realism. Hopefully there'll be more in the game from this particular vein.

That is awesome.

But it's disappointing when an assist trophy is featured on the website, because they don't help exhaust the potential material that can be covered before new characters get announced .

You guys seem too worried about who's going to be an assist trophy and who's going to be a playable character. They've only shown four assist trophies: Samurai Goroh, Dr. Wright, a Hammer Bro, and a Nintendog. Now, given what we know about those characters, do they really have enough depth and fighting ability to have a full list of moves plus a final smash that make them worthy compared to, say, Link?

To me, it's great that they are expanding the list of characters featured in the game. Assist trophies are for the 'less than legendary' characters and more of an emphasis is on the main bunch. It seems appropriate thus far.

I don't think anyone honestly thinks that assist trophies are going to steal worthwhile choices for playable characters.

However, I think most of us are watching this website primarily for character announcements and perhaps mechanic announcements. The rest of the daily updates are varying shades of filler. But there's only so much filler available, so we all figure they'll run out and start getting to the good stuff soonish.

But there's pretty much infinite material available for assist trophies, so they can stall off on telling us anything interesting as long as they like.

Actually no. All the old items, all the new stages, all the new items, all the old stages, all the anything left to think of, theres really about 7 months of updates left.

I think there is always the problem that if Nintendo reveals everything, it will ruin some of the game. There would be no surprise of unlocking a character or trophy that you didn't know was out there. Of course you can fix that by dodging the site and other forum threads like this one. But... who can resist?

They stole Samurai Goroh, and there's a rather large chance they'll steal Midna as well.

How very strange.

I bought Simcity on the Virtual Console and Dr. Wright as an assist gets announced the same day.

._.

Still, Dr. Wright is awesome.

I agree with Adamant, Samurai Goroh could easily have been a playable character. Midna, I'm not so sure about, but she's definately going to be just an assist trophy now. I wouldn't mind so much if the assist trophies just summoned things along the lines of the Hammer Bros. and they were killable, but now they're just a pokeball clone that steals possible characters.
