Last view: 5490 days 		Well, I think it's about time I do this. I was afraid of being shunned by this community thats why was a little hesitant to say this. . . >.>

But as you may or may not have noticed, there is a new community slowly forming at here: http://fraxy.hqforums.com/ and I think we're progressing very nicely. We get about a member to two a week and have a total of about twenty members. We have two admins so far and a few mods.

The forum is active and we're trying really hard to get more members to join. The community is freindly and made up mostly of youtubers, well known fraxians or just new people. I do encourage you to join for these reasons.

Now, that thats out of the way I'd also like to say a few more things. I know our community started out fairly well on the original fraxy compendium, then was split up like 100 times, but this new forum is in no way trying to split up the community. (Heres where I have to be honest) The fraxy community at board 2 is very inactive as I've noticed and gets only like 2-6 posts a day.

Our little forum here is also very disorganized and not everyone knows when stuff is going on since it is just an attatchment to board2. So what I'm saying is it wouldn't be much of a split if you just move. I'm not saying to leave board2, because it is a great forum! Just if you want a more organized, active fraxy community, why not move to the new fraxy forum.

Hnn... Now, I may be biased, but... this basically is advertising an apparently inferior site. I don't really see what you offer that we don't; most of your specialized sections don't really do anything that we couldn't fairly easily. You do, however, make the good point that we're not as organized as we could be. If that is an issue you see, then we as administration could rectify it. You're saying that people should move there for a sense of coherence, but that doesn't feel different from moving here and us simply expanding our Fraxy section. Would you like us to do that? Because we could quite easily. In fact, it would be far easier for us to do that than it would be to establish an entirely new set of forums with another site and cause people to need to move again.

I also take issue with moving to another board for another reason. You're using phpBB, while we're using home-coded software. Because of this, our site is more modular than yours, and the administration here can theoretically just code any requested features into the board. There's a limit to what can be done with proprietary software, but if additional features were requested of the administration here, it would not be difficult for us to implement them.

As for your repeated statements that you hope you won't be banned, of course you won't. There's policy of banning people who sign up just to advertise, and that's pretty clearly not what you've done here.

I quiet honestly knew nothing of the programs used to make either forum, but if you can make the arrangements to make this fraxy forum in particular, more organized etc. then that'd be great, and it'd save us all a lot of time.

Well, what kind of additional organization is required? At the current level of activity, the tagging system, if properly used, seems to provide a sufficient level of organization to things; correct me if I am wrong, but the addition of more sections at this point would just lead to the same content being stretched out over a larger amount of space, which, on its own, tends to bring forth a distinct atmosphere of tumbleweeds in the evening sun. This being meant not as criticism but as a "What could be done to combat this disorganization you perceive? I don't really see anything..." type of statement.

So now this issue has been addressed...

They have been known for quite some time but no one made a post concerning them. NK had talked to them first and then one of them joined and posted about their board and hasn't returned yet, which is unfortunate.

I do agree that there is some disorganization but it's more with the Wiki in terms of doing certain things. In that degree, I think I may have thought up too many ideas in an attempt to organize things and make it easier for others to use. On the board2 front, I think that things have been going very well and they are just as organized if not more so compared to the "old, official" Fraxy forum. This is especially true considering the circumstances that brought the "Compendium community" here.

I'm actually glad that this community has started up and brings up an excellent opportunity. Not to insult them but the "Compendium community" does not need another forum to make official. As I've said before, this forum as board2 satisfies our needs well. The Fraxy Academy on the other hand can definitely benefit from a forum of their own and I think that they should work more with this new Fraxy forum.

This is not to say that we should not open a dialog with them either. Ultimately, we should combine our resources and become a united Fraxy community with different aspects. As I see it now, here are the traits the communities have:

Compendium (Redux) - Vast information on Fraxy, evolving custom Wiki potential, creation posting and organization, big community.

Fraxy Academy (and assumed YouTube players) - Fraxy role-playing aspect, more interactive to others (posting on YouTube more), growing community.

New Fraxy Forum - Fresh group with potential, ability to act as a melting pot for other members/communities.

With these aspects, there is great potential to be had here. We must take this opportunity to help all communities to expand and join together. If we were to combine our resources, then great things can be had. Let us not waste this potential and I hope this makes sense to all.

I think it'd be a great idea to combine them, too. The people over at the other forum are pretty nice, though it is kinda unorganized and they are all relatively new to fraxy. I feel that it would be great for the community if we combined all of them, so members, resources, etc. instead of being sperate. We don't have to force everyone to one place. All these places can be seperate, but clearly connected, and each place can direct people to the others depending on where they wish to put their focus. Should someone bring this up at the other forum and see what they think?

The way I see it, the Compendium has a ton of info, as Cross said, and can use the wiki for that info and to have a place for boss browsing. The board2 "branch" could deal with more serious stuff, like info, how tos and such, and the Theme of the Month. This hqforum branch could be a more laid back environment, and the Academy would be a place for people who want to focus on a rp-ing aspect.

CTR and Bukk broght up good points and I agree that fraxy youtube, the fraxy academy, the compendium, board2 fraxy, and the recently made forum should just all join together as one. I mean, why stay separated?

So I hope somehow all the leaders of each board/forum (except youtube because there is no leader) can talk out a compromise to conjoin us all into one fraxy community.

Yeah. No point in staying seperated. I'm glad this merging (looks) like it'll go smoothly! I'm also happy that everyone is in agreement.

This will be good for all the places, since they will all get new members, and more posts, which is what forums can't get enough of haha

No-one is willing to put in the time or effort to organize it, and you seem to be completely new to running a forum, so I'll say this: give it a month and yours will be dead, with you desperately bugging people to post so you can not feel like you've wasted your time.

Calm down Arbe, we're going to use both forums. If anything, this will be still a backup, and the Compendium definitely won't die anytime soon. We'll still post here, but people will also talk about stuff there so everything can be divided into more organized sections.
