Works for me, I'll do that now...

So, I'm curious, any plans to make an AcmlmBoard alliance like we ended up doing on Nationstates?

And the trade is done. My population got a nice happiness boost, so they don't really mind my high taxes now. Yours should have gotten a nice bonus as well Thexare with the fine jewels resource.

Well, a AcmlmBoard alliance would be nice but only if enough people actually starts playing the game. >> Otherwise I just rather stay at a large alliance.

Now I just need a trading partner with Aluminium and lumber who is on the purple team.

I'm not sure how this is possible, but this guy has -47 soldiers in his army. Somehow he is in my attacking range.

I gotten a negative amount of money in online games in past so ehh... it's probably just some kind of rollover error. Either the game let him sell more soldiers than he was allowed to, or he was attacked. Either way, it's kinda funny imaging that the total population of his country is probably less than his civilian...

Oh shit they're undead!

Seriously, though, that seems... odd. Maybe you should shoot whoever scouted out his forces.

It said he had 483 soldiers and lost 483. Probably just some little glitch as you said.

As soon as I finish this deal with my ally, I could join up with you in The Legion.

If only you could get undead soldiers...

Funny how fast that game went by. >> xD

But yeah, Thexare's deal made a huge diffrence in terms of tax money. Spent it all on expanding infrastructure, and only a necessary amount on the military.

Applied for starting grants in "The Legion" alliance. Hopefully it should give a nice boost...

Edit:
Hehe, my request for grant was accepted. :o Although I hadn't got the money yet, but a boost of 200,000 should help alot. xD

As of now, I'm taking a liking to the alliance I joined. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave it or not. :\

I got attacked earlier, twice by one nation. First attack I lost 24 soldiers and they lost 83. The second attack I lost 26 soldiers and 2 tanks, they lost 102 soldiers. Right after that, he offered me peace.

Well, if you ever decide to leave a alliance, it's probably a good idea to repay any debts first anyway. Which might take time if you're a young nation.

Hehe, I saw some interesting aspects of this game, such as tech trading. It might be something I will try eventually, especially if I manage to get a grant for established nations from the Legion alliance (that I will pay back of course). However this is something I will do later on when I grown as nation.

Seems interesting, although I've never tried such games before. Does the Laffer Curve come into play with taxes?

From what I seen, not really. Best way is exprimentating with tax rates by trying the following tax rates 16%, 20%, 23%, 25% and 28%. If your population is quite happy, you can usually get away with highest tax. (as the game works, happier the people are... the more they earn. But their happiness decreases with high taxes). I went with 28% rather early on, as I found nice resources right away.

More indepth info.

Made this chart that kinda proves above... The difference between 25% and 28% is quite bit more extreme now when my nation earns more money! I'm up to $17.63 per citizen.

I really don't think you know what a Laffer Curve is then. The general premise of the Laffer Curve is that the lower the tax, the more incentive to work, and the higher the tax, less incentive to work--which in this case, is indicated by happiness. At a lower tax rate, more revenue can possibly be gained because people are making more money which is being taxed. Thus, there is a tax rate at which the optimal amount of revenue can be obtained. Elementary, really.

Well, looking up what laffer curve is about more indepth, no the game doesn't really follow it. :/ If I draw a graph for various tax rates, it's hardly a smooth curve due how the game works.

I got my aid anyway, 200K <3. Increased my technology up to 4 (and I guess it will stay there for awhile) and will expand my infrastructure like crazy in the next few days.

Edit:
Went up four tech (realized that three would been enough) and invested the rest on Infrastructure. If the aid was a loan, I would be able to pay it back within a week, although it's probably more wise to keep expanding. <3

I just changed my religion to what my people wanted, now they love me. I wonder what would happen if I switch to democracy too.

Well, you get happiness bonus if you switch to the government they want. And democracy isn't bad, so go for it.

Sadly, my people wanted one of the worst governments styles. xD But then the benefit of the additional happiness point overweight my decision about keeping my former government style.

As long as everything works out. I changed to democracy, they still don't like it. They wanted to be ruled by the people themselves, so either the game had a glitch, or I'm in idiot in some way, shape, or form.

I was almost positive it was a democracy they wanted.

I just hope nothing bad happens that makes my population stop loving me. It's not like I did much to make them happy. I go to war and gain nothing, then I raised their taxes. The land, infrastructure, and 5 star environment probably helps. :\
